I think the problem can be solved when the source tree is mounted "deeper"
so that the link (../../../contrib/i586/) fits.

Not here ;)

No. The server has no ftpd.

Yes:

|[stefanh@zaphod stefanh]$ grep mandrake-devel /etc/exports

|lrwxrwxrwx1 stefanh  stefanh22 Apr  9 15:19 RPMS2 ->

And that's the problem. When installing via nfs the link doesn't work:

|ls -la /tmp/image/Mandrake/RPMS2
|lrwxrwxrwx stefanh  stefanh 22 Tue Apr  9 13:19 /tmp/image/Mandrake/RPMS2 ->

Am I really the only one who ran into this problem? No one else installing
Mandrake via nfs? We've a lot of computers with no cdrom drive and it's very
annoying to insert a cdrom drive only for installing.

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/network-functions:

There was no reply on my last mail about this problem. I only have a
workaround.

Subject: no network with cooker (2001-07-09) - /sbin/mii-tool problem
To: Cooker Mailingliste <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
User-Agent: Mutt/1.2.5i

After updating to latest cooker (2001-07-09) my network doesn't start
anymore. I think it depends on

|if check_link_down ${DEVICE}; then
| echo " failed; no link present. Check cable?"
|   exit 1
|fi

from /sbin/ifup.

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/network-functions:

|...
|check_link_down ()
|{
|if [ -x /sbin/mii-tool ]; then
|output=`/sbin/mii-tool $1 2>&1`
|if echo $output | grep -q "Operation not supported"; then
|return 1
|elif echo $output | grep -q "link ok"; then
|return 1
|else
|return 0
|fi
|fi
|return 0
|}
|...

|[root@kilroy root]# /sbin/mii-tool eth0
|eth0: no link

When i disable the check_link_down function it works.

Any hints?

Are you sure, that every burner can handle these cd-rws and that you can
buy it everywhere? I don't think, that solving problems with better,
greater, more expensive, etc. hardware is the right way.
