Some people are astonished/disconcerted that powerful people/entities
aren't always [or often] truthful. Of course, I don't remember seeing
anything in the US or Calif constitutions requiring honesty/trughfulness
of govt operatives. Yes, they may be required to swear [or affirm] to
"faithfully execute" their office. But the populace always seems to
like having ruthless, devious SOBs "faithfully executing" whatever they
can/want/will, in order to get the job done. The propriety of any
specific method of "execution" is always a political matter.

Messiah means "annointed one." Messiahs are annointed with oil. Oil
is flammable. Messiahs burn. Those around them burn. The logic is
irrefutable. Follow a messiah - get crispy-crittered. Yow.

Who deserve all the encouragement they can get, IMHO. But I digress.

> Isn't this just evolution in action?

Social evolution, maybe. Remember that cognition/intelligence is
only about 30% inheritable -- so, just because stupid people may die
before they can breed, doesn't mean that following generations will
be any more intelligent. And just because dummies breed, DOESN'T
mean that their kids will necessarily be as stupid as they.

Those prattling about "theory" vs fact should attend to the definition
of "scientific theory" - "a workable explanation supported by the
preponderence of data." A useful theory is falsifiable and testable -
notions of creationism aren't.

Hah! Don't you believe it! I've been to The Center for Inquiry. It is an
organized arm of CSIOP...full of zealots. It is like the Kingdom Hall of
atheists. I went to their Halloween thing... All they did was pass out
literature on superstitions, force people to walk under ladders and break
mirrors. Kind of felt like some kind of encounter therapy group...minus the
pillows, ya know? I expect next they will be going door to door on Saturday
mornings selling subscriptions to their magazine, The Skeptical Inquirer,
preaching the coming of the Darwinian kingdom...

You might be interested to know that the head of this little group at SUNY
Buffalo is the same guy who wrote the Humanist Manifesto. I guess he's a
Trotsky-wanna-be. To his chagrin, he's a philosophy professor there. Need I
say more? These guys will go to any length to get somebody to take their
courses and retain tenure...

All right--please tell me how you can display a logarithm??? I have a

BTW, my grandfather had a *cylindrical* sliderule made about 1890. It's now on
permanent loan to a collector of scientific instruments. I still have my

It's well know that immortality has already been suppressed because of
the disruptions that would ensue to Social Security, Veterans Admin,
and the labor supply. Immortality will destroy the current economic
system of the Western world; hits, such as this leaked 'story', are
part of a disinformation campaign aimed at controlling rebellious

as any religion offering redemption/reincarnation. It's just a ploy.

Assuming biblical chronology to be correct, with one universe created
per week, then we'd actually be more like (52 weeks) * (6000+ years) =
312000+ universes away from {YHWH}. Are the rules the same in each of
these? Do these universes intersect? All, or just some? Where? Is
our current universe the first of a series; midway in that series; at
the end of a series; the product of nonsequential creation; none of
the above? Does each new universe spawn a new set of deities? Do/can
said deities agree on anything? How do they resolve their disputes?
Are we just pawns in theological wars? Can we escape?

> BTW, if he (HE) can go, " zap your pregnant," why'd he stop at just one ?
