I think you may have mis-typed; do you mean it happens when you try
to run the design?

Also, please include your system/version information, as there are
many bugs that have been fixed, and you may be running an older

I am trying to run through the tutorial on line called "The Step-By-Step
Guide to Dabo Programming". That is the message I get when I try to run
option from the menu.

Again, it would really be helpful if you could explain precisely when
this error occurs.

Open up the Class Designer, and then open the 'About' dialog in the
Help menu. Copy the info, and paste it in the reply. That will allow
us to start to figure out what environment you have.

Next, include some details about what exactly you are doing when you
get this error.

Not strange at all. This is considered a condition that is not a
coding error, so it doesn't cause a traceback, but perhaps a design
error, so rather than being silently handled, an error log entry is
made so that the developer knows what is happening.

That should have been fixed a while ago. Are you using the latest

In response to my earlier message about not getting the Class Designer
to connect to the database when I click "Next", I do, in fact, have no
problems with the AppWizard. It's just the Class Designer (as per the
screencast).

Haven't had that problem for sometime. As I recall with a Postgres DB having
an unsupported data type in one of your tables could cause the problem. But
it was not the only thing. But just to be sure - after selecting a
connection file the connection name appears in a small box near the top. You
have to highlight/select the connection name and then click the next.

If by chance you are using version 7.2 it may be that the fixes were not back
ported. If this is the case you might consider using the SVN version. At
the moment it is very stable.

Thanks, Paul. That worked great, but now I have another problem: the
connection won't take after I create my .cnxml file. It's the same
problem that was asked about earlier. I hit the "Next" button and it
gives me a "Please select something" dialog box. Did anyone ever

I think it is likely that the problem reduces down to you using the
ascii version of wxPython instead of unicode. Can you install the
