DateTime.pm now()
DateTime.pm claims to have a now() method equivalent to from_epoch() -- but there is no now(). Are there plans to use the request tracker on CPAN for this kind of thing, or this list the appropriate forum for now? (for the record, I like the notion of a now() method) Thanks, Matt
Re: DateTime.pm now()
DateTime.pm claims to have a now() method equivalent to from_epoch() -- but there is no now(). Scratch that -- I've sorted out my versions now. I'm still interested in this question, though: Are there plans to use the request tracker on CPAN for this kind of thing, or this list the appropriate forum for now? Matt
leap seconds
May I import Date::Leapsecond into modules/DateTime.pm/lib/DateTime/Leapsecond.pm? I could then make the changes in DateTime to use it. - Flavio S. Glock

Hmm, worked for me. And of course, if you install DateTime::TimeZone from CPAN there's no need to get the Olson DB. Is there a workaround besides editing Makefile.PL? Will the availability of the Olson archive always be in the critical path of DateTime installation? It's not in the critical path of installation. To be clear, I certainly think having up-to-date info from the Olson db is a good idea, but I'm not sure how I feel about the installation process not having a nice workaround for when we are forced to retrieve the Olson data at a later date. Well, my plan is to release new versions of DateTime::TimeZone whenever there's an Olson DB update. -dave /*=== House Absolute Consulting www.houseabsolute.com ===*/

How will it be used? I've been trying to think of a good way to handle leapseconds in DateTime.pm for a while and I still haven't come up with anything that I'm happy with. -dave /*=== House Absolute Consulting www.houseabsolute.com ===*/

All the modules I've been putting out either just mention rt.cpan.org as a place to lodge bugs for it, or give a full URL to it (and email address). They also mention this list and my own address. I like getting notice of bugs =) Sample POD: =head1 SUPPORT Support for this module is provided via the [EMAIL PROTECTED] email list. See http://lists.perl.org/ for more details. Alternatively, log them via the CPAN RT system via the web or email: http://perl.dellah.org/rt/dtbuilder [EMAIL PROTECTED] This makes it much easier for me to track things and thus means your problem is less likely to be neglected. =cut The perl.dellah.org just redirects to the somewhat longer URL at rt.cpan.org. cheers, -- Iain.
