Bug#731147: createrepo: -s option not implemented fully
Package: createrepo Version: 0.9.9-1 Severity: important Tags: patch Hi, running “createrepo -s sha .” no longer produces repositories that can be used with production CentOS 5 instances. This has been reported upstream: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=500364 This has been fixed upstream. The patch can be seen at: http://createrepo.baseurl.org/gitweb?p=createrepo.git;a=commitdiff;h=7c375657274617649a69c72931a433cf1a6bc505 I can confirm that hand-applying the patch to the relevant files (see “debsums errors” below) fixes the problem. (Actually, just “createrepo .” suddenly changing behaviour was very surprising, but I guess that’s upstream’s fault, not yours.) -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (100, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.11-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/lksh Versions of packages createrepo depends on: ii deltarpm 3.6+dfsg-1 ii python 2.7.5-5 ii python-deltarpm 3.6+dfsg-1 ii python-libxml2 2.9.1+dfsg1-3 ii python-rpm 4.11.1-3 ii python-sqlitecachec 1.1.4-1 ii rpm 4.11.1-3 ii yum 3.4.3-2 createrepo recommends no packages. createrepo suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- debsums errors found: debsums: changed file /usr/share/createrepo/worker.py (from createrepo package) debsums: changed file /usr/share/pyshared/createrepo/__init__.py (from createrepo package) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". There is a new upstream version pending packaging with this fix included, I plan on getting to that soon and I will make sure to test with CentOS 5. -- mike -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Has there been any traction on this bug? It's impacting some work I've had to do in a fairly major way. I believe this fix is already merged upstream and I can confirm that this patch resolved the problem. Ryan

I'm working on packaging the latest upstream release which includes the fix. -- mike -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Latest release, as in 0.10.3? I'm more concerned with keeping some degree of parity with RHEL/CentOS/Fedora releases (CentOS 6.5 & RHEL7 beta are using 0.9.9, while Fedora uses 0.10.1) than I am with using the latest & greatest.
