Bug#799111: classic tiles page forgets file:/// urls
Package: iceweasel Version: 38.1.0esr-3 Severity: normal I have a file:/// url I access every day. That showed up in the new tab tiles as expected. It's even pinned there. Recently, that tile has gone missing from the page, a blank space is where it should be. If I manually open the file:/// url, and then open a new tab, the tile comes back, and remains in the new tab page until I close firefox. Each time I close it, it forgets about this one tile again. Bug#799110: shellcheck should support dash
Package: shellcheck Version: 0.3.7-4 Severity: wishlist Given that dash is the default shell in Debian and probably all its derivatives, it deserves first class treatment in shellcheck. Qt5 links against GLES in arm*, Desktop GL otherwise. The reason is simple: most arm* boards have native GLES support, thus benefit from using it. As far as I remember GLEW does not supports GLES, so you basically can't use it on arm* with Qt5. Bug#799124: apt should print details about ignored errors
Package: apt Version: 1.1~exp12 Severity: wishlist Sometimes, APT ignores errors. For example, if there is an error while downloading Packages.xz, APT may ignore it and try to download Packages.gz instead. Currently, it is not easy to obtain the error message for such errors, which makes debugging these problems more difficult. I think that APT should either show details about such errors by default or have an option to enable this.

Bug#799126: nzbget requires specific jquery version
Package: nzbget Version: 15.0+dfsg-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, The webui no longer displays correctly, it simply shows "Loading... Please wait" in Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer. Browser dev tools indicate a javascript error. I believe this is due to an updated dependency. The jquery and bootstrap files required to be in the "/usr/share/nzbget/webui/lib" directory are provided by this package via symlinks to files in other packages. eg: jquery.min.js -> ../../../javascript/jquery/jquery.min.js The relationship between different versions of nzbget, bootstrap, and jquery appears to have created an issue when one of these (I *think* libjs-jquery) was updated. The most recent libjs-jquery (1.11.3+dfsg-3) provides jquery v1.11.3. The version of jquery supplied with nzbget when downloaded manually is v1.7.2. I have addressed the problem on my own system by replacing the symlink for jquery.min.js with the file supplied directly by nzbget. I won't make a recommendation because I'm not sure how this is best addressed. My own solution is possibly window dressing and ignores a underlying problem I've missed. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.14-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) Versions of packages nzbget depends on: ii libc62.19-19 ii libgcc1 1:5.2.1-16 ii libgnutls-deb0-283.3.17-1 ii libjs-elycharts 2.1.5+ds-2 ii libjs-jquery 1.11.3+dfsg-3 ii libjs-raphael2.1.0-1 ii libjs-twitter-bootstrap 2.0.2+dfsg-5 ii libncurses5 6.0+20150810-1 ii libstdc++6 5.2.1-16 ii libtinfo56.0+20150810-1 ii libxml2 2.9.1+dfsg1-5 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-2+b1 Versions of packages nzbget recommends: ii python 2.7.9-1 Versions of packages nzbget suggests: pn par2 -- no debconf information
Bug#715569: Over TWO years since initial report
With such a simple fix, it seems like a reasonable task to knock out a couple of grave bugs. If no one can manage to do that, this pkg should be REMOVED from all versions. Upgrading to wheezy or jessie proftpd base leaves this module intact and active. I can confirm a huge security risk: after upgrade, *all* FTP users have access to rootdir. Please recompile the latest source.

Bug#795808: [BTS#795808] templates://virtualbox-ext-pack/{templates} : Final update for English review
Dear Debian maintainer, On Friday, August 21, 2015, I notified you of the beginning of a review process concerning debconf templates for virtualbox-ext-pack. The debian-l10n-english contributors have now reviewed these templates, and the final proposed changes are attached to this update to the original bug report. Please review the suggested changes, and if you have any objections, let me know in the next 3 days. However, please try to avoid uploading virtualbox-ext-pack with these changes right now. The second phase of this process will begin on Saturday, September 19, 2015, when I will coordinate updates to translations of debconf templates. The existing translators will be notified of the changes: they will receive an updated PO file for their language. Simultaneously, a general call for new translations will be sent to the debian-i18n mailing list. Both these calls for translations will request updates to be sent as individual bug reports. That will probably trigger a lot of bug reports against your package, but these should be easier to deal with. The call for translation updates and new translations will run until about Saturday, October 10, 2015. Please avoid uploading a package with fixed or changed debconf templates and/or translation updates in the meantime. Of course, other changes are safe. Please note that this is an approximative delay, which depends on my own availability to process this work and is influenced by the fact that I simultaneously work on many packages. Around Sunday, October 11, 2015, I will contact you again and will send a final patch summarizing all the updates (changes to debconf templates, updates to debconf translations and new debconf translations). Again, thanks for your attention and cooperation. -- # These templates have been reviewed by the debian-l10n-english # team # # If modifications/additions/rewording are needed, please ask # debian-l10n-engl...@lists.debian.org for advice. # # Even minor modifications require translation updates and such # changes should be coordinated with translators and reviewers. I've adapted your patch missing piece to something that makes sense gut wise, that is, the first Vector2d is the variance related to the charges and the second one to the position. In any case, the previous version was segfaulting in this calculation. I've uploaded this patched version to experimental, and it needs to be tested. At the same time we need to send this patch upstream, could you do this? It's always better to be able to give some input on the patch if upstream has some question regarding it, and eigen3 wise, you are the expert here. Bug#799109: libapache2-mod-auth-kerb: Incorrect keytab file path handling
Package: libapache2-mod-auth-kerb Version: 5.4-2.2 Severity: normal Let's assume the following sample VirtualHost configuration. ServerName testwww.foo.bar ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost DocumentRoot /home/apache/http_root/testwww/public AuthType Kerberos AuthName "Please login to proceed" KrbAuthRealms FOO.BAR KrbServiceName HTTP Krb5Keytab /etc/apache2/apache.keytab KrbMethodNegotiate on KrbMethodK5Passwd on KrbLocalUserMapping On Require valid-user When web browser uses "negotiate" authentication method, everything works fine. But when apache tries to perform "K5Passwd" method via acquiring plain login and password from user, the auth_kerb module reads incorrect keytab. It should use "Krb5Keytab" file defined in config. In my example it is "/etc/apache2/apache.keytab". But in fact the module reads the system default keytab instead. Usually it is placed in "/etc/krb5.keytab". So, mod_auth_kerb ignores the directive "Krb5Keytab" while checking against plain login and password, provided by user. Thus, in the case when apache configured keytab differs from the system default keytab, the same user on the same machine in the same time successfully signs in via SPNEGO and fails to authenticate via login and password. I beleive this is a bug. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.2 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ru_RU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages libapache2-mod-auth-kerb depends on: ii apache2-bin [apache2-api-20120211] 2.4.10-10+deb8u3 ii krb5-config 2.3 ii libc6 2.19-18+deb8u1 ii libcomerr2 1.42.12-1.1 ii libgssapi-krb5-21.12.1+dfsg-19 ii libk5crypto31.12.1+dfsg-19 ii libkrb5-3 1.12.1+dfsg-19 libapache2-mod-auth-kerb recommends no packages. libapache2-mod-auth-kerb suggests no packages. -- no debconf information

Bug#799119: Regression in NVMe support caused by 7046795cdd0e9ca11789ffe0f5cedaa42217f6e0
package: grub-installer version: 1.122 I've been trying to debug some problems related to installation on an NVMe drive and found that 7046795cdd0e9ca11789ffe0f5cedaa42217f6e0 introduced a regression that is causing grub-installer to fail. This commit was supposed to introduce support for multi-digit X and Y values of /dev/nvmeXnY but instead causes it to not match on systems with drives that are not multi-digit. The [0-9][0-9] syntax is looking for drives that have multi digits explicitly. On my system I see nodes for: /dev/nvme0n1 which will not match in this syntax. Dropping the second [0-9] from the introduced areas resolves the problem for me. Thanks, signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

The problem happens with newly created domUs via 'xen-create-image', as well as with older domUs which have been migrated from a debian wheezy dom0. It happens with the vif-route as well as the vif-bridge script in the domU configuration. Bug#787290: needrestart: false positive postfix

Package: qemu-user-static Version: 1:2.4+dfsg-2 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer, I recently discovered systemd-nspawn and machinectl. After working through various bugs (try to use at least systemd 226 on the host) I started playing with emulated builds, but a full boot didn't work. I did not test amd64 or i386 because my host is amd64 and I'm not aware of any way to force qemu emulation on the native architecture. Bug#799121: local repository in non-world-readable directory doesn't work
Package: apt Version: 1.1~exp12 I'm using APT with a local repository configured with a file: URI. Also, the directory containing the repository is not world-readable. This works fine with APT 1.0, but not with APT 1.1. I found that APT 1.1 runs some of its helper programs under a restricted _apt account, and they attempt to access repository files directly and fail. Specifically, when running `apt update`, debug logs indicate that `/usr/lib/apt/methods/xz` program attempts to access repository files and fails with EACCESS, probably as a result of running with limited privileges.

The V8 library requires ARMv6 + VFP2, and some armel systems will have that hardware, so the idea is to get nodejs working on those systems. (Raspberry Pi?) The next step would be to get it to fail gracefully, rather than just crash, on other armel systems, presumably by checking the auxiliary vector (getauxval). By the way, the patch above modified configure and debian/rules. I think the change to debian/rules makes the change to configure redundant: you only need to add those 6 lines to debian/rules; if you use an ARMv6 compiler, the rest works. I'll get back to you if the latest build fails.
Bug#799105: Broken mod_dav_svn and mod_auth_kerb joint operation
Package: apache2-bin Version: 2.4.10-10+deb8u3 Severity: important Upgrade of the package "apache2-bin" in stable release (Jessie) from 2.4.10-10 to 2.4.10-10+deb8u3 has broken the joint operation of modules "mod_dav_svn" (libapache2-mod-svn) and "mod_auth_kerb" (libapache2-mod-auth-kerb). Both modules go on to work fine taken separately. But together they became unusable. The web server now refuses to authenticate any SVN user by kerberos (GSSAPI). Bug#799107: ismrmrd: library transition needed with GCC 5 as default
Source: ismrmrd Version: 1.2.3-2 Severity: important Tags: sid stretch User: debian-...@lists.debian.org Usertags: libstdc++-cxx11 Hi, your library exposes std::string or std::list in its public API, and therefore breaks ABI on rebuild with g++ 5. However as the library has no reverse depends in Debian it's up to you whether to rename the binary package or not. Cheers, Julien The following is a form letter: Background [1]: libstdc++6 introduces a new ABI to conform to the C++11 standard, but keeps the old ABI to not break existing binaries. Packages which are built with g++-5 are using the new ABI. Libraries built from this source package export some of the new __cxx11 or B5cxx11 symbols, and dropping other symbols. If these symbols are part of the API of the library, then this rebuild with g++-5 will trigger a transition for the library. What is needed: - Rebuild the library using g++/g++-5. Note that most likely all C++ libraries within the build dependencies need a rebuild too. You can find the log for a rebuild in https://people.debian.org/~doko/logs/gcc5-20150813/ Search for "BEGIN GCC CXX11" in the log. - Decide if the symbols matching __cxx11 or B5cxx11 are part of the library API, and are used by the reverse dependencies of the library. - If there are no symbols matching __cxx11 or B5cxx11 in the symbols forming the library API, you should close this issue with a short explanation. - If there are no reverse dependencies, it should be the package maintainers decision if a transition is needed. However this might break software which is not in the Debian archive, and built against these packages. - If a library transition is needed, please prepare for the change. Rename the library package, append "v5" to the name of the package (e.g. libfoo2 -> libfoo2v5). Such a change can be avoided, if you have a soversion bump and you upload this version instead of the renamed package. Prepare a patch and attach it to this issue (mark this issue with patch), so that it is possible to NMU such a package. We'll probably have more than hundred transitions triggered. - If unsure if a transition is needed, please tag the issue with help to ask for feedback from other Debian developers. The libstdc++6 transition will be a large one, and it will come with a lot of pain. Please help it by preparing the follow-up transitions. What I do care about is that you provide me a usable tarball and you don't do that currently. At least GitHub can build tarball on the fly for me... but only when I want everything in the repository. I was not aware that you could use SVN with GitHub... but in any case it doesn't seem to let me export a sub-tree: $ svn export https://github.com/ecbftw/reglookup/trunk reglookup Areglookup Areglookup/README.md Areglookup/SConstruct Areglookup/releases Areglookup/releases/0.10.0 It doesn't export the content of the "trunk" sub-directory. The build step runs "scons bin doc doc-devel" and should not install anything yet. Bug#799043: libreoffice-presentation: table double-copy always crash in Debian stable
Package: libreoffice Version: 1:4.3.3-2+deb8u1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, I'm using Debian stable at work, the current version is puting me in a very problematic state, as I cannot edit my slide with libre-office presentation. So I did report this open bug: (You can see that the test case is very simple) https://bugs.documentfoundation.org//show_bug.cgi?id=85113 But it appear to be fixed in 4.3.7.2 or later. We've just tested here. None of the code path in ilmbase compile with a kFreeBSD distribution. Since FreeBSD uses a cmake based build: https://svnweb.freebsd.org/ports/head/graphics/ilmbase/ we know for sure that the following function *does* compile on a real FreeBSD system: https://github.com/openexr/openexr/blob/master/IlmBase/IexMath/IexMathFpu.cpp#L260 [...] inline void restoreControlRegs (const ucontext_t & ucon, bool clearExceptions) { setCw ((ucon.uc_mcontext.fpregs->cwd & cwRestoreMask) | cwRestoreVal); setMxcsr (ucon.uc_mcontext.fpregs->mxcsr, clearExceptions); } [...] So kFreeBSD and FreeBSD do not use the same libc (where ucontext.h is provided).
Bug#799039: dcmqrscp : index.dat data corruption
Package: dcmtk Version: 3.6.1~20150629-1 Severity: grave Justification: causes non-serious data loss As describe in the previous bug report: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=715011#50 One cannot simply upgrade dcmtk package without grave data loss (index.dat binary format is not compatible), which should result as -best case- index.dat corruption, or dcmqrscp to segfault and not start. This correspond to the following upstream commit: c8423ab1fcf0273061462697b8eca56f894984c7 This should be clearly indicated during package upgrades. Marking as grave as I believe the DICOM file themselves are still kept as-is, so this is IMHO not a critical `causes serious data loss`. Upstream may have a finer understanding of the loss.

Bug#569150:
For what it's worth, I just ran into this bug today; and got here by googling "/var/lib/amavis/virusmail filled disk". I was quite surprised and dismayed when I looked at df and found 0 bytes free on / and postfix (correctly) refusing mail with "uhh, sorry buddy, I'm full up! Come back later!". Also rather annoying because I discovered the default partition layout puts / before swap, so swap has to be destroyed before / can be extended... but that's another problem. I'll keep my eye on README.Debian and the NEWS file... -- Graham Cantin | (408) 890-7463

I see it's in 2.77. As the Encode distribution is packaged in Debian both in the perl package and the separate libencode-perl package, this needs to be fixed in the latter first. Since the package is not that popular (popcon ~ 100) and because target users are quite probably advanced users and command line lovers, I did not try to handle a nice and smoothly conf upgrade. Bug#799088: popularity-contest: please add PERSISTENT=true to the new crontab
Package: popularity-contest Version: =1.64 Severity: wishlist Tags: patch Hi, Could you please add a "PERSISTENT=true" environment variable to the new generated crontabs ? When the cron-daemon is provided by 'systemd-cron' alternative implementation, this got translated to "Persistent=true" in the generated systemd timer. That gives this crontab anacron-like powers: if the timer elaspsed while the system was down, the job is executed after next boot. By the way, the "Suggests: anacron" is not applicable anymore, as anacron doesn't process the jobs in /etc/cron.d . Vixie's cron will ignore this environment variable. Bug#799090: simple-scan: No window borders displayed in KDE
Package: simple-scan Version: 3.17.4-1 Severity: normal Tags: upstream The user interface does not show a border in KDE. Regarding the previous bug and entry for this same problem under MATE (and LXDE) (#756913), this was closed with the Changelog entry noting: "Don't use GtkHeaderBar in LXDE, MATE" White-listing every desktop environment that needs normal behavior seems backwards to me. Shouldn't simple-scan let the window manager draw borders as the _default_, and only turn on the special no-border case when it specifically detects it is running under a desktop environment where this is appropriate? Otherwise this same bug applies for (almost) every one of the 50+ packages providing x-window-manager.
