Right.

I tried to find a flash ad on The Register, but failed.

As neither me nor the upstream developers are able to reproduce this
problem, I obviously do not affect everyone, and thus I believe its
severity should be important and not grave. Changing severity.

Happy hacking,

adding a bit of spaces at line 1874 to indent it seems to bring up s-c-p-k, but

I think that is the proper fix. It puts the call KMessageBox.error to

First off, thank you to Raphael for the patch and to Gregor for testing.
Since the -4 revision of libconfig-simple-perl has not migrated from
unstable to testing, I'm not sure that we have an issue regarding
squeeze or the release. I'm going to upload revision -5 to unstable so
that publican builds again in unstable and so that if we do need to ask
for an exception for libconfig-simple-perl, that the right version of
the package is in the archive.

Best regards,
tony

This might also be the cause of failures in the test suite of

Bug#593422: openarena: Segfaults unless pulseaudio is installed and running.

2010-08-17 Thread Jordan Metzmeier
Package: openarena
Version: 0.8.5-3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

After the upgrade to 0.8.5 the package becomes completely unusable. It
attempts to load pulseaudio, then segfaults. This occurs on systems
that do not have pulseaudio installed or running.

openarena does not depend nor recommend pulseaudio.

This might be related, or a duplicate of #589896

Personally, since I think a simple patch can cause this to not actually
halt the filter, I'd prefer to consult the release team and prepare
a fixed package.

My best guess, at this point, is that the original bug report is due to
an issue with the path to the key file.

By all means I do prefer to have you as the maintainer of the package
to contact the Release team. I'm not sure if this is necessary, but
its your call.

Bug#593313: building strongswan

2010-08-17 Thread Toni Mueller

Hi,

trying to tackle this bug, I experience a strange problem.

I didn't understand why you included all the Makefiles and the config.*
files, too, but tried to remove them from the patch and then re-build
the package.

So far, this also fails, however, as I seem to have my pbuilder setup
thoroughly hosed:

$ sudo pdebuild --pbuilder cowbuilder
...
  libopensc2{a} libopensc2-dev{a} libpam0g-dev{a} libpcre3{a} libpopt0{a}

  openssl{a} pkg-config{a} po-debconf{a} zlib1g-dev{a}
The following partially installed packages will be configured:
  pbuilder-satisfydepends-dummy

Need to get 466kB/41.9MB of archives. After unpacking 94.6MB will be used.

I've tried to eliminate all mentioning of that server, which is in fact
an instance of apt-cacher-ng, eg. by logging into the sid root and
modify apt's configuration, but although I also don't have anything
like that in my environment, "it" still tries to fetch this file.
Updating the chroot didn't help anything, and I don't actually see
where the requirement for this specific version comes from.

Tomorrow I'll probably try within a VM instead of a pbuilder
environment, but any tips you might have are most welcome!

Kind regards,

First, thanks for reporting this. But I cannot reproduce this on
unstable (in a clean pbuilder chroot), since the python-setuptools
is new enough (for sid).

While the behaviour of stable builds is not good (and the versioned
dependency is incorrect), I don't think it warrants an RC status for
this bug, as it doesn't affect sid/testing. A stable backport should
indeed have better dependencies declared, but I'm not sure why you
expect that the unstable version should be buildable in a stable
environment *by default*.

Please explain why you think this is RC… My proposal would be degrade to
important, while I try to convince setuptools to do the right thing.

regards,
iustin

Bug#481072: dk-filter crash seems to be for a specific use case (-k parameter)

I admit that I've been remiss in further investigating this because
dk-filter has dropped quite a bit in importance. I'm using this feature
myself, so I'm sure it's something to do with the submitter's local
configuration. I never did get any strace output to allow me to dig into
which of the three calls to dk_sterilize() is actually the issue.

That said, I'm not convinced that removing the assert() is a bad idea.
It's only used in three places, and in all of those places, it's
protected with an "if (results ==NULL) return -1". The dk-filter package
in Debian is NOT shipping a libdk.so or libdk.a, so there's no risk of
affecting any other packages were I to modify the function to e.g. "if
NULL return NULL" in place of the assertion.

Actually, dkim-filter itself has stopped as well, for the time being,
although it is quite stable. The primary contributors to the dkim-filter
project have moved on to a fork, opendkim.

I don't object, either, but I would also like input from the release
team. I can chase that, if you'd like.

Hi

adding a bit of spaces at line 1874 to indent it seems to bring up s-c-p-k, but
I*m unsure if it is the proper fix.

I disagree. In a NMU you could just as well point the download URL
to a different download page and sign it with your own key. The
requirements imposed by the signed download are technically
inherent and not a violation of the DFSG.

Package: kernel-patch-nfs-ngroups
Version: 4.58+nmu1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

The patch fails to apply against the current Lenny (stable) kernel source
(2.6.26-24):

START applying nfs-ngroups patch (NFS ngroups bypassing)
Testing whether "NFS ngroups bypassing" patch for 2.6.26 applies (dry run):

1 out of 4 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file net/sunrpc/auth_generic.c.rej
"NFS ngroups bypassing" patch for 2.6.26 does not apply cleanly

Note that the current version in testing/sid (4.58.debian.20100106.1) does not
apply either.

Note that the patch as supplied in the fifth message of #569177 does not
apply either, though it has less rejects.

This bug is about Lenny, which should be fixed in a point update.

I'm marking the current version in sid/Squeeze as fixed.

Could you please try to reproduce it with gnash 0.8.8 in experimental?

It's SVN, but each revision being buildable is certainly not true.

2010-08-17 Thread Yavor Doganov
Meanwhile, can you additionally test the attached program, which doesn't
use NSProcessInfo (upstream has some suspicions that's the class where
the bug is)? You can reuse the same GNUmakefile I sent you earlier.
#import

int
main (void)
{
  CREATE_AUTORELEASE_POOL (pool);
  NSString *foo = @"Test\n";
  printf ("%s", [foo cString]);
  RELEASE (pool);
  exit (EXIT_SUCCESS);
}

proceed on this. Pierre, can you please upload it?
Otherwise I'll proceed with a delayed NMU soon.

Right. I do not have a last.fm account (do not like their user

You may need to be logged in. Presumably any last.fm user account will have a
player, though in the considerable time between me reporting this bug and now
it appears that last.fm have changed their player so perhaps other web pages
will need to be checked out. The last.fm player was far from unique when I last

Thanks. Do you get something different if you rebuild with

  make OBJCFLAGS="-fexceptions -fobjc-exceptions -fgnu-runtime"

? (I doubt it.)

Before starting the masochistic bisection procedure, it is perhaps
worth trying -base built with gcc-4.3 (new code can trigger bugs in
the compiler/runtime, so it's not absolutely certain that GCC/libobjc
are not guilty). The easiest way to test this is

1) Install gobjc-4.3.

2) Edit /usr/share/GNUstep/Makefiles/config.make:
   - s/gcc/gcc-4.3/g
   - Change the line
 USE_OBJC_EXCEPTIONS = yes

 to

 USE_OBJC_EXCEPTIONS = no

3) Rebuild gnustep-base, making sure the usual compiler invocations,
   e.g.

   gcc runtime.c -c \
 -MMD -MP -Wall ...

   , begin with "gcc-4.3".

4) Run `gdnc --help'.

Please go ahead and let us know once the package has been accepted.

It was not a question.

Now (from 0.8.92) the package contains a copy of all files, even if the
version of the library in debian coincides.

This is the only workable solution, while ABI is not compatible.

This one works fine, but it's only a i386 build, so I'd rather move to
old version since I'm using amd64.

Also the looks are weird and look old, please notice tabs/buttons:

Thanks for looking at this,

I thought I tested it for emacs 23.1, but I am not at a sid box, so I
cannot recheck now if things changed during 23.1 lifetime. The problem
is that `called- interactively-p' takes no argument for backported
Emacs 23.1 I am using now for testing, but will take a mandatory
argument for Emacs 23.2 (where `interactive-p' will be declared
obsolete), where original code was added, and does not exists neither
for XEmacs nor for some older Emacs.

I am more for the 'one size fits all' approach of something like

 (condition-case nil
(called-interactively-p 'interactive)
(error (interactive-p

that seems to also work and be more portable.

Let me think about this a bit more and test changes in a real sid box
first when possible.

Cheers,

There's still a problem with this, and it's that the startup file
50gtk-doc-tools.el uses the dir where compiled elisp files are, so
Emacs won't find gtk-doc in its load-path.

Can we set it to "/usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/gtk-doc-tools" instead ?

Package: ibus-table
Version: 1.3.0.20100621-1
Severity: normal

For most of this year I have been using IBus with the RFC1345 input
method. After a recent ‘ibus-table’ upgrade, and a subsequent reboot,
the RFC1345 input method no longer appears in the menu for IBus.

This is a regression; the Debian changelog doesn't mention removing
this functionality.

The full build log is available from:
 http://people.debian.org/~lucas/logs/2010/07/31/comixcursors.log

It is reproducible by installing your package in a clean chroot, using
the debconf Noninteractive frontend, and priority: critical.

This test was carried out using about 50 AMD64 nodes of the Grid'5000
platform. Internet was not accessible from the nodes.

they'll usually grant exceptions for RC issues, and i've seen a couple

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/man-db/+bug/615045 reports a
serious regression (in my judgement as upstream maintainer) in 2.5.7:
catman corrupts cat pages when run under LANG=C, creating an obviously
wrong pipeline that ends with:

  ... | gzip -c7 | iconv -c -f ANSI_X3.4-1968 -t UTF-8//TRANSLIT

Package: istanbul
Version: 0.2.2-7
Severity: critical
Justification: causes serious data loss

Hi,

DON'T DO THIS AT HOME! OR BACKUP YOUR SYSTEM BEFORE!

- record a screencast and save it
- "Save ScreenCast" opens
- don't insert any filename
- below select any directory like "Desktop" or "bin" or whatever
- click on "Save"
- confirmation dialog opens and says:

A file named "file:///home/user03/bin" already exists. Do you want to replace
it?
The file already exists in "/home/user03". Replacing it will overwrite its
contents.

- click on "Yes"
- the whole directory "bin" you selected has just become your screencast named
"bin" :-(

I think it should not be possible doing this.

Cheers,
Gabriele

Hi,

istanbul depends on gstreamer0.10-alsa; that package does not exist on
kfreebsd-*, so istanbul is uninstallable on those architectures.

(The dependency was introduced several years ago, but kfreebsd-* were not
in the archive at that point; I've therefore tagged the bug as occurring
in the earliest upload after kfreebsd-* were available)

Regards,

Adam

Bug#367347: Missing attibution [...]

2010-08-17 Thread Marcos Marado
Hi there,

Since this is an RC bug (thanks to the attribution issue), I guess that the
best way to quickly solve this is to:
1) split this bug in two, one for the inclusion of two different .cow files
(wishlist, even if .cow's are harmless, I guess that adding them at this
point would be a policy violation, and the best way would be to ask
   upstream to add them anyway), and the other for the licensing issues;
2) since there are no fundament for the suspicion that some .cow files have
attribution missing (besides kitty.cow), either than the fact that "if it
happened to one, it might have happen to other" we can assume that the only
   faulty .cow is kitty.cow
3) I've seen kitty ASCII from kitty.cow in three different ways (with "Felix
Lee", with "fl" and without anything) -- as a matter of fact there are also
two different variants of it, one with spaces in the paws and other without
them -- but I think there's no dispute anywhere regarding if it is by Felix
or not, so just to be sure we can add either "Felix Lee" or "fl" to
this .cow file, and have the RC part of this bug fixed.

Thanks,
--
Marcos Marado

Bug#591298: Banshee becomes extremely slow after sqlite3 3.6.23.1-4 => 3.7.0-1 upgrade

2010-08-17 Thread Will Thompson
Package: sqlite3
Version: 3.7.0.1-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

Unfortunately, this problem seems to be unfixed by 3.7.0-1.1 or by
3.7.0.1-1. With either version, Banshee freezes for several seconds
whenever I hit Next, claiming that it is “Querying model for track to
play in album:Next mode”. Downgrading libsqlite3-0 to 3.6.23.1-4
avoids the problem.

Bug#593350: man-db: corrupt cat pages

2010-08-17 Thread Colin Watson
Package: man-db
Version: 2.5.7-1
Severity: serious
User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu maverick

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/man-db/+bug/615045 reports a
serious regression (in my judgement as upstream maintainer) in 2.5.7:
catman corrupts cat pages when run under LANG=C, creating an obviously
wrong pipeline that ends with:

OK, the problem seems to be that it wants to scan the home directory
recursively, and thus does not really start in a sensible time. Running
freemat from an empty subdirectory works.

But this still does not help when running via the Applications menu, as
applications started there run from ~. It might make sense to start in
~/Documents/FreeMat instead of home, at least when started via
the .desktop file.

2010-08-17 Thread Steffen Möller
Just a hunch. Could you please reinstall the previous version of
libhibernate? This has been updated to 3.5.4.Final very recently and
while reading "hibernate" so often in your report below this just kind
of triggers me thinking that we might possibly first search there.

To get there, you'd
sudo apt-get install libhibernate3-java=3.3.2.GA-2

Should that version not be available any more on the Debian servers (it
should) then you'd find it on snapshot.debian.org .

Sorry for the hassle that this update brought and thank you for your report.

Bug#591648: [workaround] doxygen segfaults on kfreebsd-*, hppa

2010-08-17 Thread Petr Salinger

Hi,

I am unable to trace that down,
but disabling multiple threads during dot run
avoids the segfault.

hppa-porters, please take a look whether similar
workaround works also for your pet architecture.
So far at least clp, soprano, schroot are affected.

Dear doxygen maintainer, please apply the workaround bellow,
until the real cause is found.

Thanks

Petr

This does not help here. The issue remains.

What helps is to change /etc/strongswan.conf. Explicitly forcing charon tu use
socket-raw (instead of socket-default) fixes the problem here. I therefor
added the line:

load = curl ldap aes des sha1 sha2 md5 random x509 pubkey pkcs1 pgp dnskey pem
openssl fips-prf xcbc hmac agent gmp attr kernel-netlink socket-raw farp
stroke updown eap-identity eap-aka eap-md5 eap-gtc eap-mschapv2 dhcp resolve

This fixes the issue for 4.4.0-2, too.

Bug#593331: eucalyptus-cloud: Eucalyptus cloud controller and walrus does not start

2010-08-17 Thread Maciej Galkiewicz
Package: eucalyptus-cloud
Version: 1.6.2-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

I have debian squeeze updated today (17.08.2010) with kernel 2.6.32-5. After
installation eucalyptus-cloud, eucalyptus-cc and eucalyptus-walrus,
eucalyptus-cloud service does not start. Cluster controller seems to work fine
(at least it listens on tcp port). Eucalyptus-cloud and walrus do not even
listen on their ports (8443, 8773). After the same dist-upgrade (13.08.2010)
everything works fine. I have already solved #593254 and #589815.

Package: python-gi
Version: 0.6.0.1
Severity: serious
User: trei...@debian.org
Usertag: edos-uninstallable

Hi,

python-gi is not installable in unstable, in any architecture. The
reason for uninstallability on i386 is:

  python-gi (= 0.6.0-1) depends on one of: - python-gobject (= 2.21.4-1)
  python-gobject (= 2.21.4-1) and python-gi (= 0.6.0-1) conflict

I didn't check the reason on the other archs but I guess it is the same.
As a consequence, python-gi-dbg is uninstallable as well.

Hi,

python-gobject 2.21.3 (without introspection support) has been
reintroduced into unstable, closing this bug report then.

Cheers

The full build log is available from:
 http://people.debian.org/~lucas/logs/2010/07/31/tint.log

It is reproducible by installing your package in a clean chroot, using
the debconf Noninteractive frontend, and priority: critical.

This test was carried out using about 50 AMD64 nodes of the Grid'5000
platform. Internet was not accessible from the nodes.
