Bug#332545: X error prevents wine startup

2005-10-10 Thread Kevin Locke
Although this is probably old news to everyone in the know, this bug
appears to have been resolved upstream (as Marc Haber noted earlier).
The bugreport http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3336 seems to
suggest that it is solvable with either a patch to X.org or by updating
wine.

Hmm, I've only upgraded my system partially since my last upload.
Perhaps I need to do a full system upgrade and do a new build, then, can
try that this weekend. But if someone could try to build the packages
themselves and see if that works, though, that might be good.

Building wine on a completely current sid (in a minimal chroot) does
not solve the problem for me. Going back to 0.0.20050725-1 did.

Greetings
Marc

But it runs for me. Could you help debug it? Set the WINEDEBUG
environment variable to +x11drv,+bitmap,+seh, for example, or perhaps
all, and capture the output leading up to the error?

Bug#332545: X error prevents wine startup

2005-10-06 Thread Richard A Nelson
Package: wine
Version: 0.0.20050830-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Prior to this version, I was (un)happily running Lotus-Notes under wine.

Now, every start gets this:
X Error of failed request: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 53 (X_CreatePixmap)
Serial number of failed request: 12792
Current serial number in output stream: 12794

I even recycled xdm and tried again - to no avail :(

I reverted back to 0.0.20050628-2 and all the old familiar problems are
back again - can't minimize, or shadow the window... but things run :)

In case it matters/helps, here is xdpyinfo:
