I'am still using XFree86 4.2.1-6.deb In my opinion the problem isn't XFree86. I analyzed /etc/X11/xkb. When reading the config files there where a lot of extremely suspect mistakes. I tried to apt-get remove xkbd xlibs --purge and then install them once again. This and some other things couldn't change the situation. Therefore i removed /etc/X11/xkb completely. When installing xlibs_4.2.1-6_i386.deb i found the answer: It don't install the whole file-structure with all config files. So i moved all by hand within mc and now it works as expected. All Files from xlibs_4-1-0-15_i386.deb to xlibs_4.2.1-6_i386.deb have the same problem. I send this mail parallel to the maintainer Branden Robinson, may be he could correct this thing. Greetz Alex
