libc6
Finally I've managed to upgrade the PowerWave 604|120, Woody -> Sarge -> Etch ... more or less. The current problem is with libc6. It appears to be stuck at Sarge and is not fully configured. The report in running dselect is this. dpkg: error processing libc6 (--configure): Can anyone suggest how to resolve this or at least how I might find why it happens? Thanks,... re: Woody base wrecks video on Oldworld.
At Tue, 25 Apr 2006 01:44:16 -0800 I described a problem with video on the old PowerWave 604|120. All that was needed to solve this was a better monitor. For a reason I do not understand, the base installation needs a better monitor than the diskette based installer needs. Thanks,... I wonder why "make oldconfig" did not enable it, but I also just might have screwed it up myself. Nah, I had to double check the config myself the first time after switching to ARCH=powerpc. Seems some of the old settings did not get carried over. Michael -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

To me this looks like something's wrong in there thus stopping the boot process ... If you can't login you might want to chroot or rescue-mode into your system ... chroot-ing into a Debian system, hopefully at least valid some time ago: http://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/2003/10/msg00262.html But it does not look to me as if you're on a Debian system: Fedora, Novell? ... :) If yes, I'd check their documentation. Good luck! And I don't understand why it happens. The driver explicitely invalidates all the prior values on resume, so its status should be just the same as after the initialisation. Anyways, I am testing Sven's patch. It doesn't change much for me (since I don't have that problem), but as far it doesn't hurt either.
