I have set up an apt-gettable repository with packages that you can try. If they break you keep the pieces, of course, but they have been working for me for a few weeks with kernels 2.6.34-rc[4567]. If you dare to install them: Obtain my key 5AEA98A9 (the one used to sign this message) from your favorite keyserver, import it with "apt-key add", add the following lines to your sources.list and run "apt-get update": deb http://alioth.debian.org/~joachim-guest/debian/ sven main deb-src http://alioth.debian.org/~joachim-guest/debian/ sven main Then you can use "aptitude -t sven install xserver-xorg-video-nouveau" to install the packages. The repository is "NotAutomatic: yes" so that the -t option is necessary. You can see what I broke in my git repositories[0][1]. Can you try a newer kernel (2.6.34-rc or so)? Note that will require a new libdrm and xf86-video-nouveau from upstream git, since unfortunately the nouveau ABI changed between in the 2.6.34 development cycle.
