[Bug 1322026] [NEW] font-scaling factor is not aplied early enough
Public bug reported: There are many ways to set the text-scale-factor, for example dconf- editor, I used unity-tweak-util, but in the end they seem to set these values in the global configuration: org.gnome.desktop.interface text-scaling-factor com.canonical.Unity.Interface text-scale-factor This solves it (for most programms) and everything is in a readeable size. Now the Problem: When I boot my PC this setting seems to take its effect later than the desktop is booted, cause when I instantly open nautilus when the desktop is up, I still have it all in a tiny font. If I wait some 10 seconds more and start nautilus then, I have it scaled the right way. I checked right after boot-time, I opened a console and watched the output of `gsettings list-recursively|grep text-scal` - the setting is already on 2.0, but everything is still tiny. ** Affects: gconf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gconf in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1322026 Title: font-scaling factor is not aplied early enough To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gconf/+bug/1322026/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I noticed this while playing around with the lio fake scsi target adapter. Here is the full udev info on a disk created on such an adapter. As you can see, it has been assigned scsi host id 13, so that is what it should be using for the $host digit, rather than zero. [Bug 1318673] Re: Modifier-only input switching with non-latin keyboard layouts has no effect under GNOME Shell
I tested gnome-settings-daemon (3.8.6.1-0ubuntu11.1) from trusty- proposed, and the fix works for me. I'm marking this as verification- done. Please, if anyone has any severe regression, please do as Brian Murray explained above, add a comment here and change the tag to verification-failed. ** Tags removed: verification-needed ** Tags added: verification-done -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1318673 Title: Modifier-only input switching with non-latin keyboard layouts has no effect under GNOME Shell To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1318673/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1318673] Re: Modifier-only input switching with non-latin keyboard layouts has no effect under GNOME Shell
Hi John, I'm not sure why g-s-d isn't starting for you, can you check your ~/.cache/upstart/gnome-settings-daemon.log files? I think that should be filed as a separate bug. Do you recall ever experiencing the problem before trying the package in trusty-proposed? Haggai, I managed to replicate your issue a few times, but not with any reliable method. But for me, if I restart the session, the problem disappears; is it the case for you? It might be best to file a separate bug instead, because I don't believe this to be a regression, but a symptom of another problem... Alexander, sorry, I tested it with Qt Creator as well, but unfortunately it didn't work before either. Users should be restricted to use their own quotas, even for the g-t. If there are thousands applications being regularly used on a system which behave similarly, should all of them be audited and reconfigured against such gotchas?
