[Bug 1768734] Re: Restoring edge tiled windows with client-side decorations shrinks them (Wayland)
The bug shows up only in a Wayland session. The behaviour is normal under Xorg. [Bug 1769260] [NEW] file-roller fails for one usser while tar works
Public bug reported: file-roller adds user gja directories fine. However, for user lin it gets well into the adding of files when it fails saying it cannot find a file in "/home/lin/.config/dconf/user.13FBIZ". I suspect this might be a temporary file it is building, Every time I try it the error is the same except the ending after the last dot in the file name changes. This may be a bug or suggest a flaw in the data it is adding. The system operates correctly for all users, even the account that is supposed to be backed up. Also if I look in the specified directory I do not see the file for which it is looking. Directly using tar works fine. Tar must use a pipe to connect to a compressor but does not run into the name problem file-roller does. You may want to consider this a bug. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal: sudo apt-get clean Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a memory test. Thanks in advance! [Bug 1687246] Re: GNOME Shell should support fractional (non-integer) Hi-DPI scaling
Another consideration are users with Nvidia graphics. >From what I understand, GNOME Shell's fractional scaling support only works with Wayland. But Nvidia's proprietary driver doesn't yet support Wayland. Some may argue the fault for that situation lies with Nvidia. But this is nonetheless a regression from Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, where the default desktop (Unity 7) has fractional scaling support which works with Nvidia's proprietary driver. All that said, even for users without Nvidia graphics, I suppose the regression (of loosing fractional scaling support) also exists given that Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, for understandable reasons, has gone back to X.org by default. [Bug 1609874]
This message is a reminder that Fedora 26 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 26. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '26'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 26 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1609874 Title: Close button on windows in Activities Overview still works, but is not visible To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1609874/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
