[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1990113] Re: Increase timeout on test doc-check for RISC-V
At the moment, RISC-V is built with the dpkg nocheck flag so this error does not show up for now. But I'm working on fixing all the nocheck related errors and this patch is part of it. I'll send the patch to Debian instead as it is not urgent. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to json-glib in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1990113 Title: Increase timeout on test doc-check for RISC-V Status in json-glib package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: The doc-check test fails on RISC-V because it is a very slow architecture: fix this by increasing the timeout on this specific test. I had these set in my profile to deal with other issues: ``` export MUTTER_DEBUG_FORCE_KMS_MODE=simple export MUTTER_DEBUG_ENABLE_ATOMIC_KMS=0 export MUTTER_DEBUG_DISABLE_HW_CURSORS=1 ``` Unsetting them didn't help. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1964036] Re: Firefox icon missing from panel following Kubuntu upgrade 20.04->22.04
Richard, if this is the same problem being investigated here, then what would explain the icon disappearing is the firefox deb being uninstalled. You can check /var/log/apt/history.log* for info on when and why that happened. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1935070] Re: Traceback during 'ubuntu-drivers list'
I made a PR on github to address the exception handling which I think is the best course here. Adding a dependency on alsa-utils will result in adding further unwanted desktop packages on systems where they don't really belong (anything with Ubuntu Server installed). Just removing the traceback to clean the output and providing a helpful error message is sufficient, IMO. ** Changed in: ubuntu-drivers-common (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => In Progress ** Changed in: ubuntu-drivers-common (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Jeff Lane (bladernr) ** Changed in: ubuntu-drivers-common (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress => Fix Committed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-drivers-common in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1935070 Title: Traceback during 'ubuntu-drivers list' Status in Ubuntu Drivers Common: Unknown Status in ubuntu-drivers-common package in Ubuntu: Fix Committed Bug description: ubuntu@doubletusk:~$ sudo ubuntu-drivers list ERROR:root:could not open aplay -l Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/ubuntu-drivers-common/detect/sl-modem.py", line 35, in detect aplay = subprocess.Popen( File "/usr/lib/python3.8/subprocess.py", line 858, in __init__ self._execute_child(args, executable, preexec_fn, close_fds, File "/usr/lib/python3.8/subprocess.py", line 1704, in _execute_child raise child_exception_type(errno_num, err_msg, err_filename) FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'aplay' nvidia-driver-418-server, (kernel modules provided by nvidia-dkms-418-server) nvidia-driver-470, (kernel modules provided by nvidia-dkms-470) nvidia-driver-460-server, (kernel modules provided by nvidia-dkms-460-server) nvidia-driver-465, (kernel modules provided by nvidia-dkms-465) nvidia-driver-450-server, (kernel modules provided by nvidia-dkms-450-server) nvidia-driver-460, (kernel modules provided by nvidia-dkms-460) ubuntu@doubletusk:~$ apt-cache policy ubuntu-drivers-common ubuntu-drivers-common: Installed: 1:0.9.0~0.20.04.1 Candidate: 1:0.9.0~0.20.04.1 Version table: *** 1:0.9.0~0.20.04.1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal-proposed/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:0.8.6.5~0.20.04.1 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal-updates/main amd64 Packages 1:0.8.1 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/main amd64 Packages ubuntu@doubletusk:~$ lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1991827] [NEW] No mp3/mkv thumbnails
Public bug reported: .mp3 and .mkv files shown on desktop and in the file explorer, have the default icon (of their respective file type), instead of a thumbnail, as in previous Ubuntu versions (at least 16.04 and before): For mp3 files the embedded image (e.g. album cover), and for mkv files a snapshot of the video. Public bug reported: I use a dark background and the Grammarly extension for my texts and translations and a few hours ago I disabled them and then re-enabled them. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1972790] Re: Can't connect to hotspot created on ubuntu
My machine can't connect with the ubuntu software, when wpa_supplicant version is 2.10. On the version 2.9 of wpa_supplicant, the machine can connect with that. But, the internet does not work. After the firewall of the ubuntu software is disable, my machine can connect the internet. But the internet is not available if I enable the firewall, again. Even if only the hotspot is handled as an exception in the firewall, the result is the same. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to wpa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1972790 Title: Can't connect to hotspot created on ubuntu Status in wpa package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: We currently have older systems (18.04) with hotspot's and we will migrate to 22.04. Anything work's fine, expect the hotspot. The Hotspot will be created and is visible in the WLAN-List, but if the security is set to "WPA & WPA2 Personal" we get the error message "Failed to connect to the network". If we change the Security to "WPA3 Personal" we get the error message "Invalid Password", even if the password is correct. As soon we remove the security (change it to "none"), we can connect with out any problems. We can reproduce it with a fresh installtion of the Ubuntu Server 22.04 and the following two commands: apt install network-manager nmcli c add type wifi ifname wlp3s0 con-name Hotspot autoconnect yes ssid test-ap 802-11-wireless.mode ap 802-11-wireless.band bg 802-11-wireless.mac-address "80:45:dd:f0:27:ba" wifi-sec.group ccmp wifi-sec.key-mgmt wpa-psk wifi-sec.pairwise ccmp wifi-sec.proto rsn wifi-sec.psk "test12345" ipv4.addresses 192.168.60.1/24 ipv4.method shared && nmcli connection up Hotspot We thought it could be similar to this issue: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wpa/+bug/1958267 Because if we test it with 20.04 it worked fine, because 20.04 uses the Version 2:2.9.0-21build1 as described in the Ticket.
