have Oracle Java version 1.7.0 _45 installed. We need to upgrade this to 
version 1.8.0 _91 due to some critical vulnerabilities in the current 
version. Will there be any compatibility issues with ESB 4.9 if we 
upgrade Oracle Java ?

Thanks a lot. There are very detail steps to create device type in your 
article. 

I followed your guide and created my device type, and then change the category 
to “iot” in the device type config file. But after I deployed the device type 
to IoTS, it still showed up in the VIRTUAL device section.

Hi Jason,

Sorry, you mean defining 3 sensors when creating new device plugin. Yes,
that feature is included after Alpha is released. If you need more than one
sensor you need to define like which is already there.  Please follow
section three[1] in this article. It will help you to understand how to
create your own sensor type and deploy into the server in details.

Hi Suho and Ramindu,

Above fix is no needed as "else" block will be executed for realtime
providers (push mode)  [1].  There we call "draw" method of the chart which
draw the chart even without the data. Then only we register call back to
push. In that call back we don't redraw the chart we just update previously
drawn chart. If call draw() on callbacks there will be a chart refreshing
in the UI as it redraws.

Here he new provider is going to access DAS tables using query params which
is a pull mode operation [2]. There basically we draw the chart with pulled
data and then set interval to call draw method periodically. If its a such
operation in that particular provider getMode should be "PULL" as in the
batch provider [3] Also please refer the branch 2.0.x of carbon-dashboard which
is used cep and das packs instead of master branch.
