Which Android version does this require? I can't get it for my XPeria

or the Android version (2.1).

[slim] Some problems finding playlists

2011-12-16 Thread paul44birch

I have been enjoying listening to the new Naim streamer (ND5XS) over the
past week in conjunction with my squeezebox players. However I am having
a few problems accessing some of my music.

I can access my FLAC music files (all ripped via DBpoweramp) via both
Asset and Squeezebox Server UPnP servers using the n-stream app on my
iPod Touch. However one outstanding issue is that I cannot access my
playlist folders. When I try on either server, the Naim n-stream app
just seems to keep searching and then getting stuck! When I use my
squeezebox players I can access the playlists so I know they are there.

I posted this on the Naim forum but got no replies, so if anyone has
experienced this or has any solutions please let me know?

Depends on the player. For newer Touch Radio just do a Factory Reset,
it will prompt you to keep it's current MySB registration or enter a new
one.
The older players (SB3/Boom/Duet) you must get that player deleted from
MySB, either by the original owner or by Logitech support.
Email Logitech your player model and MAC address for MySB deletion.

This morning I didnt check the settings before reconnecting with your

2011-12-16 Thread db122

Hey everyone, thanks for the discussion and interest.

Michael, you raised lots of good points - thank you for taking the time
to download the app and provide feedback.

Yes I checked on our artwork caching and we're being... well... a bit
overaggressive in our downsampling. You are seeing artifacts of the
reencoding of the JPG, which is only done for remote images if the
server isn't doing good resizing for us. I've made a few tweaks that
strike a better balance and the artwork looks much better. In
particular for those images that we re-encode we will be saving them in
PNG format for most cache sizes. I'll push an update out in a bit to
reflect these changes and any other bug fixes that I come across.

You mentioned that the browse window got a bit confused at one point --
are you running 1.0.1? I'm not sure how quickly you would be presented
an upgrade. It's good info that it happened in a server-switch
scenario.

Re: Kindle Fire -- the app is in the Amazon queue and will be
available... when it's available. :-) I can send an apk for
sideloading if anyone is desperate. I'll have to check out alternative
markets too.

Yes, there is a good chance and it's #1 on my personal priority list.
We're using a very small number of Gingerbread APIs and we can work
around them.

I am aware of the market stats and leaving out Froyo or Eclair users
was not a goal, it was just a matter of timing with the holidays coming

Actually, the Kindle Fire runs Gingerbread. That rumor that it was
based on 2.1 (and would forever destroy the Android community, etc,

first demoed it could have been running 2.1 so maybe that's the deal.

Well, it's not like fragmentation was a new issue and limited to the
Kindle Fire. I mean, I bought a phone THIS YEAR which is now 3 software
generations behind, can not be officially upgraded and I can't root it
unless I'm willing to re-activate my old Windows PC because you can't
do it from OSX or Linux. Android is just the same horrible mess it was
a year ago, Amazon is not to be blamed.

What it may cause trouble for is Honeycomb I believe because this means
soon most tablets will run other Android versions so developers can't
really support honeycomb features if they want to be compatible which
isn't really helping to sell tablets that are more expensive than an
iPad.

Totally true, and actually there are other fragmentation issues with
Kindle Fire because it doesn't have any Google APIs like licensing,

function.

But let's be real -- if anyone is trying to kill Android it's Google,
