If you post a separate thread, it's important to know if you only want to be able to control playback or if you also need to be able to control the exact content on the display, my interpretation is that you really want to control the exact content shown on the display. In this case it's also important to know if you need to control it with software running on a different device/computer or if it's acceptable to also have to install additional third party software on the device itself, like third party applets on a Touch/Radio. If you don't accept to install software on the device itself you will have limited number of options. A third thing to consider is if the display and playback device needs to be in the same box or if you would consider using a mounted/docked tablet/smartphone as display and have a headless playback device. Actually, the UK and western Europe (at least) changed to standard time last week. For a week we here in Toronto were only 4 hours earlier than London. Back to the normal 5 now. Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Music-Playback now on ANDROID! SqueezePlayer released to the market ...
Been using this OK on my Samsung S3 both via wireless & 3g. Now have Asus Transformer TF700 tablet which have used as a controller for my Squeezebox at home. However other day wanted to play from LMS direct to my tablet so installed Squeezplayer. It seems to connect OK & tracks start to play but no audio either via speaker or headphones. Anyone any ideas. Plays sound OK everywhere else & if I use download option to download track to table, same track then plays ok! Have I missed a setting somewhereall audio settings are at max? Thx. Been there, done that. :) Any ideas why new and changed scans following the DST switch always find half the number of modified tracks compared to the previous scan? Michael, have you disabled PM? Can't PM you. Sorry, yes. I almost never go to the forums web site, but use the mailing list only. MelonMonkey has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Community Funded Squeezebox Replacement - Would you be interested? - in the General Discussion forum of Squeezebox : Community I did get that message on the mailing list. But he deleted it from the board afterwards. -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Community Funded Squeezebox Replacement - Would you be interested?
I'm interested in buying anyone's good condition SqueezeBox classic as a reasonable price. I'd like to acquire 2 or 3 as backups for what I have now. I'm also interested in newer technology that will fill the same niche. Specifically, I want a high quality music player with a display screen that I can write my own server software to control, as I have with my squeezeboxen classics. Basically, I have 3 classics built into my home automation system, and I use them not just for music, but as clocks, weather alert mechanisms, my doorbell, my alarm clock, etc. I was never happy with the functionality I got from the original slimserver, so I put a LOT of work into writing my own. I'd like to maintain that investment by having units with the same capabilities I use now: display, decent DAC, optical out, remote control capability. What's out there? [slim] Stream Music from Computer (e.g. Spotify) to Squeezebox: HowTo and Question
Hello, I don't use Spotify enough to justify signing up a plan, so I stick with the free account (up to 10h per Month). Still, I wanted to stream to my Stereo via Squeezebox. At getjamcast.com I found a software that installs a virtual soundcard that captures whatever goes to the speaker of the Computer and makes it available via an http/mp3 stream. Works nicely. Unfortunately, this software expires after 14 days (now). Do you know an alternative "virtual sound card"? The waveinput-Plugin requires the SBS to run on the same (windows) machine, if I understand correctly. That's not the case here :-( Greetings, Hendrik henfri's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=40915 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100290 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Windows Users: Run a full library scan following time changes
Bump. A reminder for anyone running LMS under Windows: Run a full "clear library & rescan everything" following a time change to or from Daylight Savings Time. Otherwise, the next new & changed scan may rescan the whole library, which is typically much slower than doing a full scan.
