Re: [slim] Control vol with script on RPI squeezeslave, need help
I want to control the volume with buttons, I bought this 'keyboard' (http://www.audiophonics.fr/audiophonics-clavier-controle-xbmc-raspyfi-htpc-p-8435.html) to test but it does not work on squeezeplug only on xbmc (and work very well on xbmc) If I understand this correctly, that device acts like a keyboard connected to the computer, right? In this case the keys are only evaluated by the application running in the foreground. Squeezeslave is running in the background, thus the keys won't work directly. So I thought connected to the GPIO buttons and launch scripts. On the 'WIKI' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SqueezeSlave), there are commands to control the volume but I can not do it when i send command i have errors. I have no idea about how to interface with GPIO. But if you can trigger scripts using it, then you simplest solution might be sending some CLI commands to the controlling LMS. See http://yourserver:9000/html/docs/cli-api.html#mixer%20volume Your script would basically have to send a command like this over telnet to port 9090 of your LMS (netcat can do that iirc): 04:20:00:12:23:45 mixer volume +10 Power is similar. Just check the CLI documentation. -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Community Funded Squeezebox Replacement - Would you be interested?
I said that before I would patiently wait for a product even the 1.0 iteration of it . I don't need more squeezeboxes but would gladly support the community by keeping it alive :) And I would get very good and well thought out tech for very reasonable money . I would be using the digital out in my main hifi , so the DAC effort may be spoilt on me there . I could buy one for the kitchen setup to but there the speakers and acoustic are such that this level of performance is wasted anyway . I would not use it's capacity to run the server , it's actually counter to what a squeezebox is to the lug in the server in the hifi rack IMO ( get a media PC if that's your thing ) If I get to buy one I may test in both locations . Btw CSOS and a wand board without johns DAC could be a very fine server . (DoP support in 7.8 would make the world a paradise ;-) Isn't there an FAQ page somewhere with the latest info? (did a quick search and couldn't find it, but I'm sure there was one at some time) HumanMedia's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44865 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97881 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Tansporter repair
Hi, My Modwright modded transporter died and I am wondering if anyone has a solution. When I plugged it in I heard a clicking sound on the left side and the screen did not light up. The output tubes still lit up. I took the cover off and removed the network card, it stopped making the clicking sound but the screen was still blank. There are four little lights on the board on the rear of the unit that are lit. only one of them was lit up before I removed the network card. I contacted Dan at Modwright and he thought it was something in/on the processor card that wasn't working correctly, but he is unable to repair. Any ideas of how I could repair or are there any repair places that you could recommend. Re: [slim] strange knocking sounds on particular radio station
Are the players Sync'd when this happens? [slim] strange knocking sounds on particular radio station
Since some time I hear strange knocking sounds, I guess some sort of artefacts, when I listen to Funk Republic Radio using my slim devices (a touch, a receiver and softsqueeze). Sometimes it also sounds as if other stations would squeeze in for a fraction of a second. Other internet radio stations are not affected. Also when I listen to Funk Republic Radio using the browser or Winamp, it sounds normal, without any unwanted sounds. Does anyone here know what causes this, and how to avoid it? My LMS runs on a QNAP. It is v 7.7.2 - r33893 When I look up the Receiver's, Touch's and Softsqueeze's versions on the Duet remote control (after first selecting each player) they are all shown as v 7.7.2 r9663. However Softsqueeze itself (on the computer) shows its version as 3.9b2. wus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=57771 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101086 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
