Re: [slim] iPhone / iPad digital out: any experiences?
Should be pretty straightforward indeed. There are few docks (when the Lightning Connector was introduced docks had already come out of fashion and you probably don't want to use a straight cable to your DAC (because you can't charge then) but otherwise all newer iPhone models and all iPads make for pretty good players. iPeng currently supports 96kHz/24Bit playback, we might up that to 192kHz in the future although it's a bit of a bandwidth/load tradeoff (that's almost the data rate of an HD video stream and iThingies obviously only have WiFi). I've written an article about it when we first introduced the HD playback in iPeng. It's a bit outdated, most of the limitations on the iOS side no longer exist today but the general capabilities are all still there. http://penguinlovesmusic.de/2012/08/14/ipeng-goes-audiophile/?lang=de --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 9, the Universal App for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105699 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] iPhone / iPad digital out: any experiences?
Hi Apparently, it is relatively straight forward to get digital sound out of an iPhone / iPad: http://www.musicservertips.com/how-to-articles/iphone-digital-audio-output/ https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7055015?start=0&tstart=0 Has anybody tried this? Does it work? If it works nicely, it might be a good alternative to the touch when using iPeng? Rainer -- Rainer M. Krug, PhD (Conservation Ecology, SUN), MSc (Conservation Biology, UCT), Dipl. Phys. The TOS we all agreed to on MySB.com says any services can end at any time for any reason and without notice. Pragmatism will do you much better than Ranting  We are where we are. LMS isn't going anywhere. Mysqueezebox.com is going to die - its simply a matter of timing. Better to admit that, understand what services will be affected, and plan for it. scoob101's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4957 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105647 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

In 2001 Turtle beach produced a simple streamer called the Audiotron and it required an Turtle Beach website to run and give radio station direcotry. In 2004 Turtle Beach stopped production. In 2007 Turtle Beach shut down the website. They did provide a last firmware update workaround so that an alternative 3rd party website could be used. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105647 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
