[slim] Squeezeplay 7.4.1 outputing audio only to internal MacPro speakers - why?
I'm trying SqueezePlay 7.4.1 r7834 on my MacPro, OSX 10.6.1. All audio output from SqueezePlay only comes from the internal crappy speaker of the MacPro, not to the external speakers. All my other applications are outputting to the external speakers per the Preference panel setting. Only SP is playing out of the internal tinny speaker. Any suggestions? -- SteveWong SteveWong's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4867 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69379 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Re: SLimserver hangs Mac System prefs, shutdown process
Thanks for above: it turns out it was a conflict with a driver for a Keyspan networked USB print server: removing that seems to have fixed everything. [slim] SLimserver hangs Mac System prefs, shutdown process
I'm having a devil of a time with Slimserver, both 6.3.0 and 6.3.1 System: MacMini Intel 1.66 GHz, 2GB RAM, OSX 10.4.7 Slimserver was installed for all users but this also seems to happen with one user install. The squeezboxes and web interface work well despite all of this. Problem: Both are causing the system prefs to hang: clicking the slimserver pref panel causes the system preferences title bar to say slimserver loading and hang there. If I run activity monitor at the same time, it also hangs. On shutting down (even if I don't attempt the above, ie right after a restart), the Mac hangs and won't shut down. I have to hold the power button down. I've tried: 1. Safe Boot - then deleting the pref panel 2. Reinstalling: on normal boot, it says Waiting for System Preferences application to quit which it never does. 3. Reinstalling in safe mode, then immediately setting slimserver pref panel to NOT startup automatically. Rebooting normally causes all the above to happen. 4. Removing ALL entries under user/startup items 5. Note the prefs application works with all other preferences except slimserver 6. Sudo shutdown now hangs the system, no reports of the hanging application. 7. Safe mode DOES reboot OK. 8. I recall 6.3.0 seemed to be problem free. Upgrading to 6.3.1 may have caused these. Reverting back to 6.3.0 doesn't help and all the above happens. It looks to me like the slimserver pref panel is causing a hang. How to fix it? Searching all the posts for full uninstall on Mac suggests only deleting the preference panel. - Steve -- SteveWong SteveWong's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4867 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25732 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Media Center version of Softsqueeze?
I've recently gone nuts with my Squeezebox setup at home: its made a dream of whole home audio a reality. I installed 4 SB3's and am ordering a couple more (if they will still honor a 100off2 promo still showing on the site). One thing I love and it saves some money is that Softsqueeze works very well and allows rooms with PCs in them to also synchronize the music. My office runs it now, and I want to extend this to the Media Center PC which powers our TV as a DVR. That way, we can still run a picture slideshow and have the same music playing as the rest of the house, via the existing AV setup. I can run softsqueeze in the background (either headless or full) but there's no easy way to control it via the Media Center's interface and running to the PC to stop or start it via the Slimserver web interface is a pain. Any chance of getting a MCE-friendly version of Softsqueeze? - Steve -- SteveWong SteveWong's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4867 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=22735 ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
