Sorry, I work in the area, it just makes traffic suck for hours any time there is a concert because there is no public transit to the place worth a damn. I wouldn't worry about getting from caltrain to union square. It's not that far of a walk. I live in SF and often walk to/from market street from the caltrain area. If you're feeling lazy that late at night, there are always tons of cabs outside the caltrain station. -- SuperQ SuperQ's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2139 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67067 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Information Request - Getting To/From Shoreline Amphitheater / Mountain View CA
Personally, I would not FOR A MINUTE consider this trip using public transportation. If any of the links fail along the way or you miss a transfer, you're hosed. It's located in what I think you call an industrial estate. There's nothing there after dark except the amphitheater. Call a cab if a problem? Good luck to that too. The walk to/from the Caltrain station has got to be a few miles - too long to be convenient. It would be through areas that ultimately would not have much foot traffic late at night. Not a real bad area, but not a great one either. 90+ % of the cars get on the 101 freeway (about halfway to the train station), so the rest of the trip you'd be alone and possibly not safe. The company's location is not far from there, within a mile or so. Not too thrilling, I've been there a few times (to pick up orders). Is the concert during the week or on the weekend? Easy to do both with a car. Go to the office, then have an early dinner on Castro Street in Mountain View, then go to Shoreline. Rent a car and be happy. And safe. -- Goodsounds Goodsounds's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14201 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67067 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

It's 3.0 miles from the Mountain View Caltrain to the Amphitheater. I used to bike it to work every day. You can bypass the 101 overpass on Steven's Creek Trail. It's sad but true, the public transit in Mountain View is nearly useless outside of commuter hours/directions. I you do want a nice dinner, you can always goto Chez TJ. A little expensive, but great food. -- SuperQ SuperQ's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2139 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67067 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

This thread is oddly fascinating to me. Would love to go to that show too. If anyone is looking for some tips for getting around Ann Arbor, let me know. :) -- ajkidle ajkidle's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18929 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67067 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
