In a different thread someone suggested squeezenetwork is running firmware 76, while slimserver 6.5.1 is probably using formware 72. if the above is true, you might be experiencing an upgrade and downgrade of firmware problem. In particular, downgrading the firmware is always a little testy.. Upgrading to slimserver 6.5.2 (firmware 76) should level things out. Well, I just went back and tried to recreate the problem in order to try the left button on the remote. For some reason I cannot recreate the problem, so I suspect it is a little more complicated than I thought it was. If, when, it returns I will do some more investigation. [slim] Problem switching from Squeezenetwork to Slimserver
I am running slimserver 6.5.1, released, on an XP machine with 1 gig ram. I have an SB2. Since upgrading to 6.5.1, I have noticed a problem that completely escapes me. I can play my music on my XP server with no problem. I can switch from slimserver to squeezenetwork using the remote and my SB2 with no problem. HOWEVER, when I try to switch back from squeezenetwork to slimserver, i.e. select connect to slimserver (with slimserver up and running I might add)I find that just doesn't work. The SB2 display, instead of connecting to slimserver, simply gives me the internet station that I had been playing - or at least that is what the display says. I don't believe that this problem existed earlier, but to be honest, I haven't tried earlier versions, because that was my primary reason for switching to 6.5.1 - I was having other problems at the time. The only way I have found to get back to slimserver is to disconnect the power for a few seconds, then when it comes back up, press and hold the add button. As I recall this forces a factory reset, and that is what appears to happen. When this does happen, I also need to download new firmware, which it says has been successfully downloaded, the SB2 reboots, and after going through the various setup scenerios, lo and behold I am connected to slimserver. This is, obviously, a bit of an inconvience, not to say a bit frustrating. Does any one know what is causing this, a way to get around it, or just what is going on? The only way I have found to get back to slimserver is to disconnect the power for a few seconds, then when it comes back up, press and hold the add button. Can you connect to SlimServer by using the player's settings menu? Press and hold LEFT on the remot until you see the Network settings or something. Scroll around to see a list of servers available.
