Just a follow up. filter-media -f seems to have fixed the issue with the OCR txt. But some search results still show encoding issues. I believe I need to regenerate the solr index. [Dspace-tech] Mathematical formulas support
Abstracts can have mathematical formulas but it is a simple text area. We thought about TinyMCE but it is ugly as we need to upload images of formulas separately. Best solution would be to use editor which can convert pasted formulas from word (in our cse) in TeX format but displays them as proper equation. Also how to display the equations when viewing an item is another issue. Also what will happen to indexing when this TeX gibberish will be added inside abstract? [Dspace-tech] dspace 3.2 issues with non-ascii
Hi all, I'm having problems with metadata display at harvester point of view , Dspace 3.2 (upgraded from 3.1, upgraded from 3.0). Here are two items displayed differently. Item added when there was dspace 3.1 http://dspace.emu.ee/oai/request?verb=GetRecord&metadataPrefix=oai_dc&identifier=oai:localhost:10492/1378 ( Keskkonnatekkeliste stresside tõttu taimedes... etc, contains 'o + tilde' ) In the meantime upgraded dspace to version 3.2. Non-ascii chars are replaced with ? marks. http://dspace.emu.ee/oai/request?verb=GetRecord&metadataPrefix=oai_dc&identifier=oai:localhost:10492/1379 (Doktorit k??sitleb kolme olulist..., while it sould be Doktoritöö käsitleb kolme olulist ... contains 'o + uml' and 'a + uml'). >From public web (so to say) both are displayed correctly: http://dspace.emu.ee/handle/10492/1378 http://dspace.emu.ee/handle/10492/1379 So this issue appeared after upgrading from 3.1 to 3.2. Maybe it's possible, that this issue was also in 3.0 and 3.1 version, but it was disguised by double-utf issue ( http://www.mail-archive.com/dspace-tech@lists.sourceforge.net/msg22671.html ). Re: [Dspace-tech] Spring vulnerabilities in DSpace 1.5.2?
The components affected by the issue are not used by DSpace JSPUI as well so there are no issues with the existent installations. DSpace CRIS make use of some spring tags but as far as we know it never use "user input" as attribute of this tags so no issues for DSpace CRIS too.
