[Duo2400] Re: 'New' 2400 G3/240 with cache problems?

2004-07-27 Thread Alex Santos 100MB Neostrada Mail
Hi Geary,
I found this for sale on Allegro, a Polish ebay if you will
http://www.allegro.pl/show_item.php?item=28686913
It's a processor!!! 233 MHz G3 from a PB G3.
Will it work for you.
Right now there are two days left.
It is going for 1zl or 27 cents.
If you go there you will read (if you can read Polish, don't worry
neither can I) If you go to www.poltran.com it will translate for you
albeit poorly. But it will give you a rough idea.

I sent the guy an email to let me know what his minimum is. He has the
auction setup so that a minimum must be met before it will sell.

Let me know how much you are willing to spend and I will go as low as
possible.

I have no idea how much delivery is, but seeing that it is so small it
should be quite cheap.

If you wish to bid yourself you can, here is a site that can help you,
although you have to pay them to use it, but it is extremely cheap to
use, and the interface is in English. http://www.snip.pl/en/

Let me know, I can buy and send it your way no problem, I am not
interested in making any money, I will be happy if I can help you out.

Hi, don't throw it out.
Maybe sell it on ebay if anything.
I don't have a duo but am looking for one. But I am not technician, if
I were I would probably buy it off you.

Anyway let me know what you have.
You can mail me off list if you wish.

Paul may be right, try removing the RAM.
If you just installed RAM then yes it may be that.

Only niggle is that the pixels are 96 rather than 72 to the inch, so
while you get a lot on the screen it comes out a bit small to read.
But I got used to it.

Hi, I have both of those...
Nothing fancy; just a serial cable connecting the Dock's printer port
and the
Newton (via the serial adapter).

As far as software, I was using Newton Backup Utility before I found
the
Newton Connection Utility at unna.org. Hope that helps...

2004-08-11 Thread Alex Santos 100MB Neostrada Mail
Is there any advantage to having a Duo Dock II versus a Duo Dock Plus
when docking a 2300?

This machine has an FPU so the Plus should be enough right?
What is the difference if any when docked with this machine particular?
Thanks for your insights.

2004-08-11 Thread Alex Santos 100MB Neostrada Mail
After some second guessing from previous accumulations of knowledge.
Isn't the 2300 a little taller or something and therefore because of
it's form factor fit only the DuoDock Plus or II as bothese full sized
docks have a bigger insertion port to accommodate the size of the 2300?

Sorry, I need some clarification.

Correct - there is no advantage to the Duo Dock II unless you also want
to use it with one of the original three 68030-based Duos, i.e., the
210,
230, or 250 (but not the later Duo 270c, which had a built-in fpu).

Depends. If you are lucky, its a software reset. Less lucky, but not
too bad, is a fuse replacement. Bad, is a new powerboard or CPU is
needed.

What have you tried so far ?
