Re: [Dx4win] Elecraft K3 Radio Interface problem.
Joe and Bud, your suggestions solved my problem. Changed those settings and dx4win has been running for the last 8 hours without any issues. In addition to that later in the evening I also changed the default of the File/Preferences/Radio/Baud Rate from the default of 4800 to 38400 and did the same in the Config Menu of the K3. Thanks for your help. 73 john-n4dsp I addition to what Bud has suggested, right click on the Computer icon, Select Properties, click on Device Manager, Open Universal Serial Bus controllers, select *each* USB Root Hub and Generic USB Hub entry, select the Power Management tab and *uncheck* the box marked Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. 73, ... Next to Recommended Settings, select Change Plan Settings. Then click Change Advanced Power Settings. Click the + next to USB Settings. Click the + next to USB Selective Suspend Setting. If you click on the Setting: Enable, you will get a drop down box that allows you to change it to Disable. I hope that solves your problem. 73, Bud N7CW __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Dx4win] Log Stat Inaccuracy
Hello. Dx4win running for over ten years now. In the beginning I made the mistake of replacing my country file instead of merging and it threw my dxcc entity stats out of whack on each and every band. It's impossible to go back and correct it at this point. Sent an email to lotw yesterday asking if they could send me my log and Norm Fusaro did just that. This morning I received the file N4DSP LoTW ADI. What would be the correct process of replacing my current inaccurate log with this one? Thank You john-n4dsp __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

LoTW doesn't keep much data from your log, so you'll lose a lot of information. LoTW stores Callsign, band (TX and RX), mode, date, start time, frequency (TX and RX), Satellite name, and propagation mode. Nothing else from the log is stored by LoTW, which means you can't get it back that way. You'll lose any notes you have for QSOs, none of the contacts will be marked as confirmed (except for those QSLed on LoTW), information on when you sent out QSLs, and so forth. All of the DXCC status will be lost (nothing will be marked as checked). This will take forever for you to fix if there's a large number of QSOs. And, I don't think this will help you in any case, as you'll end up with exactly the same problem you currently have: you'll be using the current country file to determine the entity for each contact in the new log, which should end up with the same set of bad mappings to entities. Unfortunately, I think you're going to have to find and fix the problems with your log some other way. 73, -Rick -- Rick Murphy, CISSP-ISSAP, K1MU/4, Annandale VA USA __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

I was about to tell you the same thing. Can you be more specific as to your perceived problem... maybe we can help. If you are concerned about accuracy of DXCC info, it might be best to use the current file maintained by Jim... it is highly accurate going back decades. Re: [Dx4win] Log Stat Inaccuracy
I stopped merging many years ago and just use the new one each time (use the autoupdate program). Jim keeps full callsign exceptions and dates better than I did. Once I started just replacing the file, I did have 3 or 4 errors which I spent a little time correcting, but nothing special to do now. Sounds like though you might be having DXCC credit problems. See the user notes at WWW.AD1C.US DX4WIN section about comparing LOTW with DX4WIN.
