Thanks Paul, The two items you mention were ok, and yes, I have Win 98. The
good news is everything works now!
I switched over to another printer (a Cannon BJC 5100, also an old parallel
printer), and labels printed fine. Went back to the HP DeskJet 500 and now
it works also. I have no idea why, I had re-started many times. I wish I
had tried the other printer before I started this thread!
Oh well, I gained a lot, thanks to Terry, WK0F for the suggestion of
cleaning out my Temp files, I had never done that and got rid of over 300 Mb
of junk. It didn't help the original problem, but it sure can't hurt.
Thanks all, Don

Don,
1. Check if the formatting of the QSL label makes sense.
2. Reboot the computer and only start dx4win (you may be running out
of resources running Windows98 by chance?)

I use an HP Deskjet 500 which prints fine on everything else and has
worked
fine with v. 6.02.
Once or twice I got the message: Exception Ocurred - Canvas does not

I re-loaded 6.03 with the same results. I don't know what else to say

it.
