Re: [Dx4win] QSL Labels for Multiple Calls
I wonder if the best solution would be to use one of the many QSL label printing products out there, many are free. You export to them in the same way I use a QSL service... using filters and ADIF. DX4Win has the tools to set/unset flags and dates to do it quite easily. On 2012-01-05 17:59, Bud Semon N7CW wrote: > Although Kostas' idea is a good one and very useful, I agree with Paul. I have my main log F6EXV as a stand-alone log, so that statistics and so on are appropriate. I manage several operations like TO5FJ, PJ7X to just name 2, so I do not want to mix these calls with any other. When I have to print a label for TO5FJ, I have to go to Files/Preferences/Rep-Label and change the2 lines of comments. Then I print the lables. If I need to print a label from PJ7X to that same station, I have to go over all the process again. The difference in the label comments are not necesarily only the callsign. In other words, I wish I could define a label (size and comment) for each callsign. Then, when I open a different log, I should be able to select the "TO5FJ" or "PJ7X" label under QSLs/Print QSL label instead of modifying each time I change logs. [Dx4win] DX4win ver8.05 with TS950sdx
GM all, I have been using various versions of DX4Win with the TS950sdx for some years now but a couple of days ago something went wrong and I have been unable to find the fault, if such it is. Now if I click on a spot in the band map I get a beep from the rig, the mode changes, and the red arrow in the band map moves to the new band/frequency but it only stays there for a second or so then reverts to the previous band/frequency. The frequency on the rig does not change. If I change band and/or frequency manually on the rig the arrow and the frequency at the top of the band map track rig as it should. Any ideas anyone? 73 Andy G3SVD __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Dx4win] band & mode preferences
There are several places where I can select my band preferences and modes of operation so the unused choices do not get in the way of my particular operating bands and modes. It minimizes wasted time and mistakes. So under STATION PREFERENCES, I can select the bands and modes I use. Also in PACKET 3. But in the ENTRY WINDOW, I have to go through all the possible bands and modes when again I need to narrow them down to what I use in my particular operation. Did I miss the place where I can select my particular operating bands and modes, and not have the others in the way, in the entry window?. There are 38 modes to select from and 22 bands there How can I have only my bands and modes to show in the entry window to speed up the entry of contacts? 73 Steve Sala K7AWB DN17es Nine Mile Falls, WA 468 grids ARRL confirmed-6 meters 294 active entities ARRL confirmed-DXCC __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

I'd like to have this feature too, should be a nice improvement. 73 DX de PY2YP - Cesar On 7/1/2012 12:10, Steve K7AWB wrote: > There are several places where I can select my band preferences and modes of > operation so the unused choices do not get in the way of my particular > operating bands and modes. I agree, its a pain the way it is and no good reason to see all the extra bands & modes when you have already selected what you use w8gc On 1/7/2012 12:28 PM, PY2YP wrote: I'd like to have this feature too, should be a nice improvement. 73 DX de PY2YP - Cesar On 7/1/2012 12:10, Steve K7AWB wrote: There are several places where I can select my band preferences and modes of operation so the unused choices do not get in the way of my particular operating bands and modes. [Dx4win] Lost Key
I had Version 8.04 which was working great. In December I uploaded ADIF file to LOTW. After upload I installed new computer hard drive. When trying to open program from desktop link it said could not find file. I downloaded V 8.05 and it will open however in the demo mode. I saved existing V8.04 saved files to new V8.05 files and the log is there however I can not find the existing key it is asking for. If I merge the new file with the old one will I get duplicate QSO's ? Where should the key be located? How do I get a new key? Thanks for any assistance. Hate to think I might loose over 60 years of QSO's. Re: [Dx4win] Lost Key
The key file is in your dx4win directory (dx4w804) You should copy it to dx4w805 directory. Also you should copy the log files from dxw4804 to dxw805 directory. Re: [Dx4win] band & mode preferences
DX4Win doesn't work as you describe... you never have to scroll through the modes or bands you don't use. The modes/bands you enable are always first in the drop-down list, no need to scroll further. This way you can still log a mode that is not actively tracked. You can select the modes by pressing the first letter... since the active modes are first, you will always select the active mode. What would be useful would be a user configurable mode table as DX4Win is always behind as far as digital modes are concerned.
