I suspect you can split the headphones out to a stereo jack. I read a review 
along these lines on Eham written by NZ0T. You might email him at

You must have me confused with someone else on the reflector as my "CHOSEN"
headphone/boom mic assembly (for K3)is available from "Elecraft" which is
the (Heil ProSet IC) which I might add is REALLY FABULOUS!!!
