Thanks for the link, John.

Hit "reply"?

Seriously, I don't understand the question. Do you have an email
program that doesn't have "reply"?

How much memory do you have on that computer? You need 256 MB
to get it to work. If it is short on memory, it can slow to a
crawl or freeze.

[Emc-users] optical probing

2008-01-24 Thread Dave Engvall
Hi,
I'm certain that by now those of you that take "Digital Machinist" ,
Winter 2007 have absorbed the article on
optical probing. The concept is a no-brainer but my stumbling block
is linux camera software with the cross-hair.
Does anyone know of a package that will work. I think one wants
stills at about the flicker rate but maybe it doesn't make a
difference. However, the ability to superimpose the cross-hair is
critical.

This would be very nice as a pop-up window in emc but I'm willing to
use another machine if necessary.

Ideas?

Dave

[Emc-users] M64/M65 and M6/M7 commands

2008-01-24 Thread Guelzow, Andreas

I need to activate a patallel port output while the axes are moving.

All commands above stop the movement before output is activated.

Is there any G/M command that can switch outputs immediately or which
other way to go.

Thanks!
Andreas

Re: [Emc-users] Need some help - Stepper Mode 2 - HAL - WORKING!

2008-01-24 Thread jcombs
John, Kirk,

Thanks so much for the help.

It was the ctrl_type = v,v,v that was the biggest problem.

I am off and running now with phased motor drivers.

Tonight, I can finish the wiring and then off we go.

If anyone is interested in the .HAL and the .INI files, let me know. I
didn't want to
clutter up the list.

As a note to the folks that are coding the stepconf utility. It would nice
to have the
option of setting phased mode vs step/dir for the step interface. When I
get some
time, I might take a crack at adding that myself.

Thanks, Again. Jim C

There is some info on this page that might help.

What are you considering with the serial port? Just wondering...
