Transaction log partition size

2003-09-24 Thread Jeroen Peters
Hi List,

Quick question: I'm I right when I say that the size of the partition which
holds the transaction logs should be bigger as the mail volume you process
between full backups?

Any good links on how to set up an Exchange 2003 server, disk wise?

Thanks,

Jeroen Peters

Spamcop problem with this list?

2003-10-02 Thread Jeroen Peters
Hi all,

All messages on this list received today were reported by Mailwasher to be
blacklisted by Spamcop. I don't believe it to be a problem in Mailwasher, so
it must be Spamcop.

What happened?

RE: Spamcop problem with this list?

2003-10-02 Thread Jeroen Peters
Hmmm... Still every message from the list is marked as blacklisted by
spamcop. I guess I have to contact them.

Plasticgirl.com (my domain) is blacklisted by the Fiveten RBL because it's
hosted by xo.com. From the site of Fiveten:

IP address 207.155.252.26 is listed here as xo.com spam-support. Please note
that the following comments apply to xo.com since 207.155.252.26 seems to be
owned or controlled by them.

This does NOT mean that we ever received spam from 207.155.252.26. It just
means that the upstream owner of that address block (which seems to be
xo.com) is listed here for spam support. That upstream needs to resolve the
below issues.

-end quote-

So what I understand is that some domain hosted by xo.com is responsible for
sending spam and therefore every domain hosted by xo.com is blacklisted.
Nice.

Regards,

Jeroen Peters

Spamcop does not list any of those domain names as being blacklisted...from
what I can see.

However, "swynk.com", "sparklist.com" and your own "plasticgirl.com" are all
listed on the FiveTen RBL.

Hi,

You can change the default 'save directory' in the registry. Keep in mind
that, when you do change the location, every attachment which is opened will
be saved and not deleted. See Knowledgebase article 296115 for details

Hi everyone,

I just got a laptop back from a traveler who has switched to outlook in
anticipation of our Exchange deployment,

Her only complaint is the "default save" folder when she tries to save a
doc, it comes up with olk917 within the Temp Int Files directory, but when
she goes to browse to it, it is not there.

A) why is it not accessable B) where did it actually save it too?

C) can I just change the default location? outlook 2002

that is Ideal considering they are used to Eudora which automatically
puts everything in the "attach" folder, However if I may ask once Exchange
is online will it take the attachment out of the Store and save it locally?
or will a copy remain in the store?

Hmmm, this slow login problem has appeared again. All mac clients (outlook
2001) hang for five minutes after entering login credentials. After that the
client works perfectly...

- Exchange 5.5 SP4
- Macs connecting via IP
- Mixed MAC OS versions (9.2 > X)
- All macs have correct hosts file, and dns servers (dns contains correct
info)
- Exchange was restored two days ago from backup, to the same server, 1gb of
transaction logs played in
- All other networking on macs seems fine
- All windows clients are fine

Best practise connecting server?

2003-01-07 Thread Jeroen Peters

Hi all,

I need some advice on howto connect 3 Exchange servers (5.5 and 2k,
soon to be all 2k).
They are situated in one site, bandwidth varies from 2mb to 128 KB
and the total user is something around 400.
I have very little experience in setting up multiple servers and was
wondering what the best practises are.

TIA,

Jeroen Peters
