Bulk mail services?
Hello and Happy New Year! I'm looking for any feedback anyone has on bulk email services they have used. I'm googling for candidates, but it'd be nice to narrow the playing field a bit with real life experiences. Anyone? Constant Contact usually gets the highest vote count when this question is asked. Our company chose to go with Exact Target and has been satisfied. RE: Bulk mail services?
A little side note about constant contact. We use ISA 2004 as our proxy here and we can only have one person logged into CC at a time (even with separate CC accounts). The session somehow gets screwed up and one persons session will log out the other persons session. I have spoke to CC and they claim there is not a work around for this. I personally think that is crap but what do I know. We have 4 separate CC accounts and each person has to schedule a time slot to work with CC. Pain in the butt. Hey Shay, I don't know of an easy way, but Glen has some tips on using EWS to do it on his blog here: http://gsexdev.blogspot.com/2008/02/class-library-to-help-setting-out-of.html -troy -Original Message- From: Mayo, Shay [mailto:shay.m...@absg.com] Sent: Wednesday, December 31, 2008 8:46 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: Looking for PowerShell Script to Configure User's OOO Message Hey, Can anyone point me in the direction of a powershell script I can use to configure a user's out of office message? Re: Bulk mail services?
I doubt this is CC's fault. If they allow you to send directly to their SMTP servers, ISA is probably taking too long to drop the connection. --Durf On Wed, Dec 31, 2008 at 9:03 AM, Eric Wittersheim ewittersh...@aasmnet.orgwrote: A little side note about constant contact. OWA 2003 removal?
We installed 4 new Exchange 2007 servers (2 CAS/HUB and 2 Mailbox) into our existing Exchange 2003 organization. We had and still do have 2 Exchange 2003 servers, one of which is just an OWA box. All the mailboxes are moved, but we're still not ready to remove the Last Legacy Server yet. However, I would however like to decommission the OWA box. Can someone tell me what the procedure is? Is it just do an uninstall of Exchange on the OWA box? RE: OWA 2003 removal?
Andy, If that is simply a FE OWA box, running the uninstall should be enough for you to decommission it. We had a similar setup as you describe at two locations and its seemed to go fairly straight forward. -troy -Original Message- From: Leedy, Andy [mailto:ale...@butlerahs.com] Sent: Wednesday, December 31, 2008 10:27 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: OWA 2003 removal? Hello, We are looking at migrating to an all blade environment and have some 1yr old Dell 1950s with Gold support. Has anyone sold off old servers that are still under warranty? Any recommendations on how to do it; eBay or reseller? Any suggestions are appreciated Thanks and Happy New Year Travis ~ Ninja Email Security with Cloudmark Spam Engine Gets Image Spam ~ ~ http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Ninja~

It sounds like CC is tracking web user sessions by IP address, at least in part. Since you're all going through the same proxy server, you all appear to have the same IP address to them. This is bad web programming, of course. They should be using a cookie, or HTTP form fields, or something else to track state. But bad web programming is the rule, not the exception. You might be able to work around their defects by using multiple public IP addresses and doing something to make sure that each session comes from a different IP address. Myself, I'd just tell them they either fix their software or you take your business elsewhere. There's lots of competition in this market; don't reward bad service with repeat business. -- Ben ~ Ninja Email Security with Cloudmark Spam Engine Gets Image Spam ~ ~ http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Ninja~
