Exmerge can Extract entire messages I know that much - I want to remember we did something to remove attachments too when the "I love you" thing came out but I am not finding reference to it on the webs, and or in the way back recesses of my brain. Do you have an AV solution for Exchange installed? Some might include the capability you're after. - Sean On Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 7:31 AM, KevinM wrote: > Exmerge can Extract entire messages I know that much – I want to remember > we did something to remove attachments too when the “I love you” thing came > out but I am not finding reference to it on the webs, and or in the way back > recesses of my brain. > > > > *From:* Sean Martin [mailto:seanmarti...@gmail.com] > *Sent:* Wednesday, July 21, 2010 8:24 AM > *To:* MS-Exchange Admin Issues > *Subject:* Re: Attachments - Name that tool > > > > ExMerge? > > > > - Sean > > On Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 7:16 AM, KevinM wrote: > > I am looking for a tool that will remove all of the attachments from a > bunch of mailboxes on an Exchange server. I think Sean is on the right track. I seem to remember the removing of the attachments back on the "I love you" thing was anti-virus related. See if you find an old copy of ArcServe. IIRC, it could remove everything. Hello, Didn't you have to patch ArcServe before it would even run well enough to screw up your server. Patch, patch. Patch. Ya'll just must not have known what you were doing, we've run Arcserve here for years with few if any problems. Backups and restores are very reliable, including Exchange and SQL.
