Note that Alan's patches seem mostly to be bringing
other architectures up-to-date (like ARM), and doesn't actually make any
changes on iX86 (or so I've read)

I installed kernel-2.4.0-0.15mdk.i586.rpm It had ReiserFS support,
broke supermount and ppp tho. I didn't investigate, just went back to
2.2.18

Tom,

Same situation here. I downloaded a new version of rp-pppoe to install that
and still couldn't get anywhere -- back to 2.2.18.

Cheers.

2.4 doesn't have support for Reiserfs - but a patch is available. Check

Hi,

The reiserfs patch is available for the 2.4.0 kernel source at:

ftp://ftp.namesys.com/pub/2.4/linux-2.4.0-reiserfs-3.6.25-patch.gz

I just used the previous version (3.6.24) and it worked fine.

My only problem now is trying to get the ADSL connection working. My file
system works fine as does everything else but my ADSL.

Oh well, one thing at a time. Hope this helps. Cheers.
