Patti, I'm so sorry to hear about sweet little Ellen, how absolutely horrible that these sweet little babies all perished because of the unthinking, uncaring actions of a would be rescuer. I'm praying for her 50 cats at home and for any more kitties that have the unfortune of ending up in a transport she is involved with. It may be a good idea to post the facts about the transport to any lists you belong to so anyone thinking of using her as one of their resources in the future can be aware of the horrible outcome of this run. Just state the facts clearly and unbaisedly as you know them so you can't be accused of slandering her. Anyone considering her services in the future should know that they may want to think twice about it. My deepest sympathies for all the heartache you have recently gone through, it certainly is a test of your strength, but please think about throwing in the towel. I'd hate to see the lady who so callously disregarded the lives of the animals in her care be the reason someone as wonderful and caring as you can no longer help those sweet innocents. Also, her sheer DISREGARD for the lives of these babies by basically just cramming the 20+ cats into a small vehicle, UNVETTED WITH NO PAPERWORK from the shelter, mixing litters, crammed into carriers & the cardboard "temporary" carriers, like sardines, without food, water or even a damn litterbox for the long ride , non-stop, from Georgia to Pa., on one of the hottest, most humid days,then to Ohio, then to N.Y., then finally back to HER home in Pa. (a 2 bedroom townhouse, in which she already is housing 50 (Yes, FIFTY!!!), of her own cats AND, as if things couldn't be any worse, this was her SECOND large transport from the SAME SHELTER in a two week period!! How in the hell could this be allowed to happen??? This woman is NOT A RESCUER, BUT A MURDEROUS COLLECTOR!!! I apologize for my harshness, I am NOT an evil person But I am over-ridden with grief & guilt. If I had been able to think that afternoon, I should have called The Adams Co. SPCA to the scene, but I just did not have my "wits" together..Regrets, I am having a VERY difficult time DEALING w/ the reality & gravity of the horror! The SENSELESS loss of so many lives, the unknown number of other innocents that are now in danger. Right now, I would like to put this woman in the trunk of a small car on a hot, humid day, drive 600-700 miles, and then "toss" her in a gas chamber... I do not mean to offend anyone on this list. God knows, I love you all and you all have been such a wonderful, supportive, compassionate group of people, no doubt this list has always been my favorite due to the fact of the "closeness" & support. I'm glad these babies have had you in their lives, and that you are doing this wonderful rescue work. They will be with you carrying you through. Also, add little Ellen, Taylor & Moonshade to the prayer list??? Also, please add Charity, a non-pos feral mom I trapped (was dumped w/ her 2 kittens). She is non pos, as are her kittens, but please pray that my attempts to "socialize" her will be successful. And that I find good homes for her babies, Timothy & Thomas, who have turned out to be little love-muffins. :) Thank you so much, and I am sorry this is so long, but like I said, I've had my hands full since my move.
