John, I don’t think it is…I’ve been playing around with the MIDI setup, rebooting Finale and my computer, and somehow my system is working again. I have no idea what it is that I did to fix it. I’m beginning to think the problem is with my MIDI synthesizer and not Finale. Even with Finale closed, when I press any note on my synth, I get the mallet sound after I release the note on the synth keyboard. I created a brand new file in Finale 2012 on my iMac today, and now when I enter notes using my MIDI keyboard/synth and speedy note entry, every time I enter a new note and lift up my finger from the keyboard, I hear a percussive mallet sound.
