[Flexradio] SDR + kitchen sink for trade
I have decided to trade my SDR 1K, 100w PA, ATU, 2 meter transverter, parallel cable, usb cable, external clock kit, delta 44 original and Tony's version of break out box, cables, Heil Boom PL-2T and SM-2, PR40 , one complete UCB kit, one UBC pcb, one ozy, one Janus (new built versions not kits), 2 atlas boards, 2 Pinocchio's. This radio only has a few hours on it, and has 8 months left on the warranty. I have used it on the Army Mars bands with a g5rv. I am really centered on emcomms and satellite work, so this setup is not practical for me anymore. I need an all mode radio/mobile/base ( I prefer Yaesu or kenwood) that I can deploy with. I also have a Hy-gain crank up 52' with a heavy fold over base to trade, pictures can be seen at http ke5eup dot net. I am putting up a 100' tower and I already have a 70' crank up for emcomm, so this one needs a home, all pulleys and winches work, no rust, needs new cables. Why trade? It is just better for me, I am on a fixed income, and would rater trade than handle the money hassle. I am good on QRZ. That causes a hump on the left end of the Panadaptor noise floor (11.025 kHz down from your reception frequency in the older versions of PowerSDR or 9 kHz with the new PowerSDR). You may not see it, if your sound card has 48 kHz (or lower) sampling frequency, because it is outside your Panadaptor range. Switch on 96 or 192 kHz sampling, if your sound card can do it, then you may see it. In most cases this hump is just a cosmetic fault and does not make any harm to your normal bandwidth operation. If you want to get rid of the hump, buy the Flex-5000 or use HPSDR's Janus/Ozy combination with the SDR-1000 to replace the sound card. 73, Ahti OH2RZ > ___ > FlexRadio mailing list > FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz > http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz > Archive Link: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ > FlexRadio Knowledge Base: http://kb.flex-radio.com/ > FlexRadio Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/ > > ___ FlexRadio mailing list FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archive Link: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ FlexRadio Knowledge Base: http://kb.flex-radio.com/ FlexRadio Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/

[Flexradio] Heil GM-4 and FLEX-5000A
I have a 5000A in route and am thinking about the inter-connections before it arrives. Julius, W2IHY, made up a cable for me to connect my Heil GM-4 boom mike to the SDR-1000. It included a 1/4 inch plug that plugs directly into the Presonus Firebox or the FA-66. Are those connections considered balanced or unbalanced? Is the GM-4 a balanced mike? The ideal would be to plug the 1/4 inch plug into the rear of the 5000A. I just did a ring out of the W2IHY cable with an ohm meter and discovered that the ring connection on the plug is not connected. I guess that means I need to wire the cable up to the front panel mike connector. If the GM-4 is a balanced mike, which I am unsure, then it might be possible to rewire the 1/4 inch plug to accommodate a balanced connection. Does anyone have experience with the GM-4? 73, Steve N6VL -- next part -- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Re: [Flexradio] Flex & HRD
Jerry, Could you be a little more specific on you HRD question. Are you using DM780 or PSK31 Deluxe? How do you have Virtual Audio Cable configured? There are several good articles in the Knowledge Base that will help you get up and running on digital modes. My particular setup on my FLEX5000A using HRD/DM780 is as follows: VAC set for 2 cables at a 48000 sample rate. In DM780, the Input (receive) is set to Virtual Cable 2 In, the output (transmit) is set to Virtual Cable 1 Out. PTT is set to run through HRD using CAT. Re: [Flexradio] FLEX-5000 spontaneous disconnection from PC
Alan, Have you gone back to the previous firmware to see if you still have the issues? There's no problem with dropping back from version 0.1.1.2 to version 0.1.1.1 to see if that changes anything. As to Gerald's response, that was my error; I got it mixed up with something else. In any case, it did sound like a firewire issue, and it sounds like your reinstall took care of it. I'd suggest, just for kicks, trying the previous firmware version to see what happens. 73, Dale WA8SRA Alan NV8A wrote: > I didn't see a comment from Gerald, so he may have sent his message > only to you and not to the list (I hate lists where the default is to > reply to the sender rather than to the list). > > I reinstalled the FLEX-5000 driver, and now I get only the two > double-dings (instead of four) after switching on the rig, BUT I have > still encountered the spontaneous disconnects, e.g., when clicking the > 10M button while on 28.255 changed the frequency to 28.400, and at > least once while moving the mouse (actually a trackball; computer mice > are another of my pet hates) scroll wheel with steps set to a mere 1KHz. > > I think I'm going to have to reinstall Windoe from scratch anyway, > as the AUTORUNS program (mentioned in another thread) shows so much > junk, including programs and drivers that work only with the two > previous sound cards I removed. Re: [Flexradio] FLEX-5000 spontaneous disconnection from PC
I didn't see a comment from Gerald, so he may have sent his message only to you and not to the list (I hate lists where the default is to reply to the sender rather than to the list). I reinstalled the FLEX-5000 driver, and now I get only the two double-dings (instead of four) after switching on the rig, BUT I have still encountered the spontaneous disconnects, e.g., when clicking the 10M button while on 28.255 changed the frequency to 28.400, and at least once while moving the mouse (actually a trackball; computer mice are another of my pet hates) scroll wheel with steps set to a mere 1KHz. I think I'm going to have to reinstall Windoe from scratch anyway, as the AUTORUNS program (mentioned in another thread) shows so much junk, including programs and drivers that work only with the two previous sound cards I removed. One of the programs I've tried to uninstall complains that it can't find the necessary hardware; duh! that's why I'm trying to uninstall it: because the hardware is no longer there. Maybe a fresh install will take care of this FLEX problem -- although I still don't recall it happening before the firmware upgrade. 73 Alan NV8A On 10/24/07 11:32 am Dale Boresz wrote: > I agree with Gerald's comment, that it sounds like a firewire-related > issue. Re: [Flexradio] Version number versus "SVN"
Hi Craig, If you downloaded the 1.10.3 release from the Flex website shortly after it was released, the "Beta" indicatrion and SVN number you are seeing in the title bar were an oversight in preparing 1.10.3 for release. Shortly after it was reported, a corrected 1.10.3 (i.e. without "Beta" and SVN number in title bar) was released. So if you'd like to get rid of it, redownloading 1.10.3 should take care of it. 73 de Joe - AB1DO Sent: Thursday, October 25, 2007 08:46 Subject: Re: [Flexradio] Version number versus "SVN" > Jim, > > "There can be and usually are many SVN for a "released" version." > > This is not entirely correct. > > There is one and only one version of any *released* version of PowerSDR > and a many sub-versions of the current beta code of PowerSDR. > > Everything else is 100% dead on. > > > -Tim > > -Original Message- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jim, W4ATK > Sent: Thursday, October 25, 2007 6:51 AM > To: Craig Sande; FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz > Subject: Re: [Flexradio] Version number versus "SVN" > > There can be and usually are many SVN for a "released" version. Jim, "There can be and usually are many SVN for a "released" version." This is not entirely correct. There is one and only one version of any *released* version of PowerSDR and a many sub-versions of the current beta code of PowerSDR.
