[Flexradio] PowerSdr mixer issue !
Hi, (please be gentle... my first post here ;-) There is one thing I'm having trouble to figure out how it works. I do have the mixer setting for the right mixer and have line for reception and mic for transmission I was expecting that on tx powersdr will command the mixer to the mic input and on rx it will command the mixer to line In fact when I start by pressing start it indeed commands the mixer to line (or to whatever I have selected on reception box) but it remains in line all the time even when I press mox or press the PTT. Playing around on the setup/audio/mixer configurations I clearly see that what I put on the receive configuration do change the mixer instantly and correctly. So I'm on the right one :-) But when I'm on TX it is the same receive selection that affects the mixer. and not the TX selection ! I've tested on two different installations and through few different audio cards always the same behavior. and on two different PC's. What I'm I missing here ? How is this supposed to work ? --- Additional note: if I change the source of the recording signal to mic directly on the mixer while on TX, all works, but I have to select back to line when I finished transmitting in order to receive. Shouldn't this be happening automatically ? Or I'm missing something here ? I'm puzzled. All help is welcome. any help ? Luis Cupido. ct1dmk. P.S. using and SDR1k(like)hardware. ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/
[Flexradio] Flex-5000 on MacBook Pro
Today I installed the Flex-5000A on my MacBook Pro. I proceeded exactly according to the KB article of Brian, WB6RQN, starting with a new 10GB windows partition in the Boot Camp mode. Everything went fine, including the installation of Service Pack 3 (SP3) in Step 10 with no errors. But when I started the Flex-5000 driver I got the message No device found. Connect device. Though everything looked fine and the tones were ringing when switching on and off the radio, there was an interface problem with the firewire driver. Finally I uninstalled the software including SP3 and installed instead the SP2- hotfix KB885222. Now the radio works on the MacBook Pro, the CPU load being around 20-40%. At the moment I am using 96kHz sample rate and 1024 buffer size in the operation mode 2 or 3. So, according to my experience, Step 10 of the KB should me modified or complemented. 73 Chris HB9AJP ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/
Re: [Flexradio] PowerSdr mixer issue !
Luis, The mixer is only available for the Flex 5000 in PowerSDR. Let us know if you are discussing SDR-1000 and which sound card or the Flex 5000. 73, Dudley WA5QPZ Luis Cupido wrote: Hi, (please be gentle... my first post here ;-) There is one thing I'm having trouble to figure out how it works. Re: [Flexradio] PowerSdr mixer issue !
Hi Dudley, Tks for your reply. I have a SDR1000-like setup. and I'm running powersdr 1.14. unsuported card and asio4all. It is the system mixer I'm talking about. For which I tell powersdr at setup/audio/primary/mixer the audio-input-mixer I'm using That will be the audio-card-record-mixer and on the selection below I say Reception: line-in the IQ from the radio connect to line-in Transmission: mic-in the microphone connect to the mic-in I was expecting that powersdr will command the mixer to line-in while on reception and to mic-in while on transmission It doesn't Although it commands the mixer to line-in upon start. The mixer selection is correct as I explained before as it commands to whatever I say on the Receive: pull-down-menu upon start and instantly if I change it at any time during RX. So it is reaching the right place. The problem is that it won't change to the value selected on the Transmit: pull-down-menu when I press PTT or push mox while in LSB/USB I'm running an unsupported card (realtek ALC888, that works great), but I had always this problem for whatever card and driver combination even with a supported SB Audigy. (tried over 5 different cards... same problem) Me in my ignorance believe that this has nothing to do with the card itself as it is a communication from powersdr to a mixer, as all other applications do talk well with all the different mixers tested why shouldn't powerSDR talk the same ? (and all the different mixer implementations must not have the same bug... hummm!!!) I must be missing something big, or is a bug that chose specially me to irritate... ;-) ... I don't know. Help ! Please !!! Thanks. Luis Cupido. ct1dmk. P.S. I received an email from someone that had the same problem and solved it by reverting to version 1.8. He never discovered what was the cause. Is there somewhere a repository of old powersdr versions for me to try also ? tks. Dudley Hurry wrote: Luis, The mixer is only available for the Flex 5000 in PowerSDR. Re: [Flexradio] FlexRadio Digest, Vol 44, Issue 15
If you use a current limiting resistor to both sides of the balanced mike line as, Bill AD5OL suggests, this will work. However, and very important, make certain that there is a DC blocking capacitor in series with the audio input so you do not send DC back into that circuit. I do not know what the input of the SDR looks like, but you do not want to pass unwanted DC into a circuit that does not want to see it!! [Flexradio] Flex 5K with multiple external transverters
I couldn't resist and upgraded to the 5K. I have to admit that I have ignored most of the 5K threads here as they weren't pertinent to my 1K and I didn't expect to be buying a 5K anytime soon. I am curious to hear from anyone that is using multiple transverters and how you interface them (preferably automated). Too bad the UCB/X2 interface is not an option for the 5K. Has anyone installed the DEMI 2m xvtr for the 1K inside the 5K? What is the current status of Flexwire/I2C interface accessories? I am running transverters on 50 thru 10368 MHz and interested in diversity reception with duplicate transverters for moonbounce. 73, Robert KR7O/YB2ARO, DM07ba/OI52ee (ex.
