Re: [Audyssey] STFC error
Darn that was going to be my next suggestion. did you try instlaling the dot net 2 fraimwork from the windows update site? Poor Thomas. He no sooner releases the game after two years of work and we're all having practically the same problem. About the only comfort I find in this situation is that I'm not the only one having the issue, so it's not just my computer. Like I said earlier I wonder why it never manifested itself in the testing? Probably just to make Tom's life miserable. You know how computers can be. They say computers can't feel emotion but I think they have one, petulance. And no, uninstalling and reinstalling the game doesn't work. I've tried that twice already. Hi Bryan! I don't remember where I read this, but they did a test with teenagers and their computers. When the teenagers were happy with their computer in the games they played there computer seemed to perform better than the teenagers that were always upset with their computer and the games they were playing. I am not sure what I believe concerning that test. However, computers are all electronic and electrnic fields and the human body produces some electric fields around the body. that could have some kind of affect that is not really known, yet. It is an interesting thought whatever the case might be. My experience has usually been quite the opposite. It seems the happier i am with my computer, the higher the likelyhood of it copping out. I mean think about it. I was so excited to play the full version of STFC and guess what? It doesn't work? I tried installing DirectX in both a folder in Program Files and also in the Windows folder and got the same message. And what theh eck is a JIT Debugger anyway? Whatever it is it seems to be beyond y area of expertise. It ain't pretty when the pretty leaves you with no place to go. J.D. Re: [Audyssey] STFC error
Well brian, methinks a chip debugger sounds like what you would get if you removed the chip and the de smile! seriously, sinse you had a different error message inflicted upon you, I suspect it is a different problem, and I hope you can get it fixed. Reguarding computer's personalities once my laptop decided to completely crash and shut down on me in a lexture of philosophy of mind where we were discussing the limits of artifical inteligence, and what the differences betwene computer and human inteligence were, the lecturer (who is a bit like a computer himself), had just propounded the theory that just as we don't find it particularly astounding that a mechanical digger can do a job that would take lots of people many hours of boring and back breaking labour, we shouldn't be impressed or surprised by computers and calculators that do a similar job with very repetitive and dull mental exercises like number crunching! At that point my laptop decided to throw a wobler. Makes you think doesn't it. , (kew twilight zone music). beware the Grue! Re: [Audyssey] STFC error
Well my computer behaves itself for the most part. If it doesn't I reformat. It obviously does not like it either that or the systems I have got lately like me. I have had systems that did not like me, i accidently dropped one. At 03:15 PM 12/5/2006, Bryan Peterson wrote: My experience has usually been quite the opposite. Hi, yeah, must be some computer conspiracy against me. Everything seamed ready to go I was glad to be done with the game only to find out it blows up on half a dozen systems for some inexplicable reason which I don't have a hope in solving immediately.
