Yesterday, stand up comedienne Sanne Søndergaard* ** noticed "Wikipedia for
kvinder"***, dawiki's portal for women, and her reaction was "WTF?"

The discussion on Facebook has had its ups and downs. One particular down
is a lot of name-calling amongst the women in the discussion. It appears,
however, that some people are allergic to pink, and that some people find
the text condescending and patronising.

The kerfluffle has caused quite a lot of views on the portal - on ordinary
days, it has ~20-30 hits; yesterday 5159. *

Oh, and at WikiWednesday the day after tomorrow, we'll probably talk about
pinkness and stuff.**

Last year, I had a discussion with a couple of the female editors on the
Danish-language Wikipedia. They have now created a women's portal:

bit... pink, but I am outside the target demographic, so my opinion is
rather irrelevant :-)

Somewhat related: The most well-known Danish woman's self-awareness
book, [[da:Kvinde, kend din krop]] was originally published in 1975,
and has been revised several times since. This year, the group behind
the book opened a photo booth in order to collect images of the
diversity of female genitalia. Have a look at it at

I find no problem with having one gender-neutral article for barbers

really change the point that authority works better if the person
using the authority is perceives as being outside the conflict. That
is not always possible, of course.

(lifestyle and such); Christiane Vejlø's husband is a stand up comedian.
