 Hello

as of now the gnome3-web git module does not seem to be used at all. I
could not find any of its content on the current gnome.org web sites.

Will someone remove it from git and damned lies? Or at least
remove from DL and rename the git module to e.g. gnome3-web-2011-old ?

The module gnome3-web has been removed from DL.

In DL we also have the GNOME Web site • Dynamic / Static content under
infrastructure. According to the README, wptest.gnome.org is the
playground to test before publishing on the real web server.

I commited new German translations to the wptest branch, but I cannot
choose German ath the bottom of wptest.gnome.org. Italian is also
missing. Are updates turned off for wptest.g.o ?

This should probably be asked elsewhere. Sysadmins? Gnome-web list?

The temporary GNOME 3 website was based on pure HTML, that's why it
could be parsed easily by html2po (from the Translate Toolkit) to get a
translation template. As far as I know, our website gnome.org is based
on PHP scripts. Some different workflow and tools are needed here to
make it translatable. The Translate Toolkit provides a similar tool
named php2po [1]. I don't know whether any changes in the PHP code are
 needed to make it work.

Php2po was mostly intended to translate php files with string arrays
that are used by some projects to keep localisation strings in one file
per language.

But what about gettext for PHP or whatever Vinicius Depizzol was working
on?

From my side: I'm a bit disappointed to know that my work translating
that website is gone. I thought I'm getting in early in the life of
GNOME 3 and it is worth translating it for the benefit of a few years.

Anyway, it would be fine to be able to translate it.

The new website is based on wordpress. AFAIK, Vinicius Depizzol did work
on a plugin to make it translatable.

However a private mail I sent to him in August is still unanswered, does
someone know if he's still round?

maybe the gnome3-web module should be removed from DL since the web site is
