Re: [Goanet] The Promise of Obama

2008-11-07 Thread Cynthia Fernandes

Dear All,

Sorry to say, India will never change.. except for a few like Dr. Kalam,
CHANGES (AS SAID BY OBAMA) NEED TO BE DONE FROM THE HEAD OF THE COUTRY,
NOT MID WAY.

As there is total corruption on the top, so if the top leaders itself are
corrupted, what change does one see in India.

Sadly GOA is best not spoken of. GOA is a close chapter. with raping, and
all corruption.. even the top leaders dont reply to the emails or letters
sent out to them.

Until then.

Cynthia

[Goanet] The Promise of Obama

2008-11-06 Thread Miguel Braganza
Dears,
I was listening to Barack Obama's victory speech and John McCain's speech
conceding the victory ...even while the results were not yet official. Two
great statesmen there ...the likes of whom are difficult to find anywhere on
Earth and next to impossible in Goa, this land of mines!

Two sentences from Barack Obama[aged 47 years] first.
1. I will listen to you ...specially when we disagree.
2. I received an extra ordinarily gracious call from Senator McCain. He has
fought this [electoral] battle long and hard ... and he has fought longer and
harder for the nation he loves.

John McCain [aged 72 years]:
Americans have spoken, and spoken clearly. I called Senator Obama and
congratulated him on being elected the President of a country we both love.

I wish our leaders could say the same thing about India and Goa in victory
and in defeat ...that their land and people come first, not themselves!

Mog asundi.

Miguel
