Yes -- nice of them to spread out like that, although it can make for a

2013-01-12 Thread Wolfgang Bueschel

Yesterday discussion on 4750v signal of Makassar Ujung Padang INS around
21-23 UT propagation into Europe, in A-DX ng.

Checked noon 1205 UT Jan 12 here, via various remote units in northern
Sweden, Moscow and Tokyo units.

Strongest program AHEAD is CNR childrens hour radioplay on 4749.999 kHz.

Also INS Makassar 4749.952 kHz, noted also local Gamelan music in peaks.

Weaker at this hour are Qinghai RGD Xining signal on 4749.989 kHz,
and - my GUESS - Bangladesh underneath even 4750.000 kHz.

this all week. Noted a female in what sounded like Quechua
language comments until 1033 when promos presented
in Spanish mostly. At 1037 the female returns with Spanish
language comments. Later she is joined by a male in
comments. Signal was fair during the period. The signal
started to fade into the noise by 1050 however. This
was the only SAm I could hear on this band during
the time above except for Ecuador. Signal was just about
gone by the top of the hour.*(Chuck Bolland, September
19, 2009)

*Earlier I could hear the words the singer
was singing, but by the top of the hour the
singer was just humming again.

Aoki shows Sound of Hope = Xi Wang Zhi Sheng on Sat and Sun only at 09-11 with
100 kW, 325 degrees via Tanshui, Taiwan site, and of course *jammed. As I have
pointed out time after time, we are more likely to hear ChiCom jamming than SOH
itself, over here as the jamming is surely more powerful and less direxional
than SOH even when the latter is running 100 kW rather than 1 kW.

Just because the jammer is represented in Aoki only by a single asterisk does
not mean it is not the primary signal on most such frequencies! So your two
logs above, unless you understand Chinese a lot better than I do, could more
likely be reversed. Lacking that, one should be able to find some CNR1
frequencies to // which are NOT jammers and thus sort out which is which you
are hearing on the frequency in question.

If you don`t recognize it, how can you be sure it`s a national anthem rather
than some other piece of martial music? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

What do you mean by ``time tone``?? Are there ticks exactly every second,
and/or a marker exactly on the minute, but no voice announcements? Is it in CW
mode or not? Possibly YVTO reactivated nominal 5000 along with spur? (Glenn
Hauser, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

after a minute or two. Unfortunately, this didn't last. By 0923,
the signal had disappeared completely. (Chuck Bolland,

Indonesia, 9680, RRI Jakarta, 1020-1030, Noted two

Taiwan, 9540, Xi Wang Zhi Shi, (Tent) 1025-1040, Noted a female

whose it is, is the question? This leaves me with a question, would
China or Taiwan broadcast a NA on the half-hour? Following the NA,
more comments from a male. At 1035 a female talks. The above
ID is taken from AOKI's database which was recently (yesterday)
upload. At 1038, things are starting to get complicated since a
second Chinese Language signal begins to fade in on this freq?
Signal remained fair. (Chuck Bolland, August 29, 2009)

Philippines, 9615, Radio Veritas Asia, 1050-1105, Noted a number
of persons in Chinese language comments Between comments, organ
music heard. Like from a church. Sounded like Bach. Heard
"Taiwan" mentioned by a female. Judging from the tone/nuances, this series
of

comments seemed to be a narrative of someone's experience. Program
continued thru the top of the hour. Signal was good. (Chuck Bolland,
August 29, 2009)

Australia, (non), 9670, CVC International, 1103-1115, At tune in
noted music until 1105 when a male and female(?) converse in Indonesian
language. Signal was fair. (Chuck Bolland, August 29, 2009)

Russia, 7200, NVK Radio Sakha, (pres) 1115-1135, Noted a male
and a female in Russian language comments. Checked for
parallels, but was unable to hear anything even resembling this station.
A few freqs (7345 and 7140) had some activity, but they were too
weak to copy. Signal on 7200 was poor. (Chuck Bolland,
August 29, 2009)
