2019-07-24 Thread Atoska Gentry via Histonet
Hello Sandra,

Following are catalog #'s for Fisher substitutes that I received from their
site: 12-545GP (50x35mm); 12-548-5RP (45x50mm).
Ted Pella, Inc. Gold Seal 3327
www.expressmedicalsupply.com Erie-Scientific ER 35x50-1.5 & ER 45x50-1
Also try Brain Research Laboratories 4860-1 (48x60mm) although they're a bit
more pricey.
Thomas Scientific (48x60mm) #6672-A64
Additionally, I've seen some eBay listings.

Best wishes,

~Atoska

Hello all,
Does anyone have a source for oversized coverglass? (35x50,
35x60, 45x50, 45x60) We section a lot of globes from the ophthalmology lab,
some of which are from horses, cows, etc. that are put on the larger slides.
Fisher used to carry their own brand, but it's apparently discontinued them,
and their "alternate" product is $50/oz!
Thanks!
Sandy

Thank you,

Re: [Histonet] specimen storage cabinets

2016-08-11 Thread Atoska Gentry via Histonet
Hello, I work for a research facility and we currently have an archive of
several formalin fixed samples stored in 500ml glass specimen jars; one of our
PI's recently asked me to conduct a search for storage cabinets specifically
designed to accommodate these samples. Is anyone aware of the availability of
such cabinets? The only thing my search has turned up thus far are the
flammable metal cabinets. But due to limited storage space we have to stack
these jars and the generic flammable cabinets are not stacked glass specimen
jar suitable. All ideas & input are welcome. Thank you kindly, Atoska

[Histonet] RE: Microm HM 505 E Cryostat

2010-08-05 Thread Atoska Gentry
hello, has anyone with this particular cryostat experienced frost build
up on the top interior area located above the microtome? I've also
noticed the temperature has for the past couple of weeks been reading ~
3 - 4 C colder than temperature setting. Thus far it seems to still be
sectioning just fine. I'm just curious to know if this is an indication
of a malfunction of some sort? I also need to mention that on Monday
morning I also observed quite a bit of water on the floor of the lab
where this instrument is housed and it's source has yet to be
determined. Any pointers will be much appreciated.

to be guinea pig but I haven't been able to locate internal ear slides
from any species. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
