My game servers used the same amount of memory, shared files or not, if
that is what you mean. The space is only a few hundred megs. I think it
saves the hassle of trying to maintain and run multiple configs from one
directory than just creating multiple hlds dirs. Of course this is just
my opinion and the way I do it (space and hard disk speed are not a
 concern for me).

Yer loads of mods but it shows that separate installs for GSP's aren't
really an option as you quickly run out of diskspace. Not to mention
the fact that its very OS disk cash unfriendly potentially leading to
poorer performance especially on map change.

RE: [hlds_linux] CZ update in steam

2004-09-11 Thread Alfred Reynolds
This error is caused by running an old version of the steam binary.
The md5 of the current version is:
052614675ad06e54c3c9a5ec63ab94b0 steam

Verify you have the most recent one and that you are running it (check
for other steam binaries you may have placed elsewhere in your path
directories).

The md5sum command will give you the md5 of a file. You need to run
the command from the same directory at the binary (i.e ./steam).
