Re: [hlds_linux] RE: [hlds] Mr. Reynolds - .RES or .LST?
Pat yourself on the back Alfred... I've seen bad writeups on HL2 - and awesome ones... Personally - I dig it! Playing it for the 2nd time now. Good game play - good story board - good everything. nose getting brown - TF2 have any chances of coming to us TFC'ers? :-) Throw us a bone bud! :P ___ Britt Priddy, MCSE, CCNA Developer / Network Engineer Power Zones www.powerzones.com - Original Message - From: "Alfred Reynolds" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, December 03, 2004 10:04 PM Subject: RE: [hlds_linux] RE: [hlds] Mr. Reynolds - .RES or .LST? For custom maps that have new resources (such as models or sounds) you need a file in the maps directory called .res that lists all the custom resources required by that map. It should contain the list of files that a client will download when they get the custom map from the server. The format of the file is: --- "resources" { "blabla.txt" "file" "sounds/blabla2.txt" "file" } -- Note the "file" parameter, the .res file consists of key values pairs and each value parameter must be "file" for map resource files. This file is needed for both in game downloading and for the http external downloader. - Alfred Original Message From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Bud Ingram Sent: Friday, December 03, 2004 11:43 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [hlds] Mr. Reynolds - .RES or .LST? Mr. Reynolds, RE: CS:Source WinSRCDS - is there any official information available that would explain how to properly setup files for HTTP fast download? There are numerous concerns (reading on SteamPowered and visiting with other admins) that WinSRCDS Servers have an issue serving the resources for custom maps (only .BSP files are transmitting) and no one is clear on which, or how-to, setup .RES or .LST files for HTTP download with CS:S. Thank you very much in advance. ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
