RE: [IceHorses] Hroi's first gait video
Hi Karen, >>>sorry, hard to spell that name with an "i" after spelling it with a "y" for five years! I don't know how to pronounce it really, but Cary is already calling him "Roy." Pretty funny. I had a horse named Hottur that we trained for the GAHR - but we called him blossom for short because he had a very fuzzy forelock and couldn't pronounce his name properly. Robyn Hood

>>> A--I love it! How do you pronounce his name, what does it mean, and >>> how >>> did you choose it? V I think it's one of those listed as "man's name", loosely translating to Robin - Janice pointed out that Hroi Hottur is the legendary Robin Hood of the Merry Men fame - sorry, hard to spell that name with an "i" after spelling it with a "y" for five years! I don't know how to pronounce it really, but Cary is already calling him "Roy." Somehow that has already morphed into Hroi Hrogers. Now, I'll have to get a palomino gelding and name him Tryggur I guess :) Is there an Icelandic woman's name for "Dale"...just in case Flekka has a filly? :) Karen Thomas, NC

you need to accept that poor little hroi hrogerssun and his little malformed legs needs to come to florida where the sun will warm and soothe him and help his little foxtrot bloom and flourish. Janice -- even good horses have bad days sometimes.

are you going to name him Hroi Hottur or just Hroi? Janice >>Hroi Hrogers... Cary just corrected me. That would be Hroi Hrogerssun. My bad. Karen Thomas, NC

from google: Hrói höttur is the Icelandic name for Robin Hood, and this restaurant is the Icelandic version of American fast food chains, circling the country. The location out of the centre, in the west part of town, seems rather strange and at a first glance not so promising, but as Hrói is also a bar the place has become a local for the suburb area of vesturbær/west end. Situated in a large office and supermarket building close by the sea, Hrói höttur caters for busy lunches and hurried dinners alike, and has managed to become quite popular amongst all kinds of crowds, though somehow they tend to be mainly of the male kind. average cost: ISK 1500-2000 delivery available. wonder why fast food is more popular with males in iceland?? I like the name robin hood for an icelandic... a name that means a person who takes from the rich and gives to the poor is a good name for an icelandic horse I think!! Thats awesome Karen!!
