In that way, they are generating revenue. But my merely using Android, I think there will be no problem. Most issues are reported with third party apps in the market. You can get the source code and make changes. You also have the freedom to distribute the copies, or redistribute the modified copies. Thus Android follows the four Freedoms cited in the Free Software Definition. Google also have the freedom to not accept your crap code. So, if you are unsatisfied, just fork the project and name in Aneeshdroid or whatever! It is better than ranting here!
