Re: [ilugd] Help required with LinPus version
Hi, Can anyone plz helpout with Linpus version of linux. I need to chk the battery backup of my Laptop in this version, but due to absence of a gui i'm unable to, can anyone suggest some coomand that'll enable me to see the details about the battery. Linpus is a a very minimalistic version of gnu/linux shipped with acer laptops. I suggest that you replace it with a mainline distro like Mandriva or something. However, Acer laptops have problems regarding acpi. There is an kernel patch called acer_acpi, but I could not get it working. So you won't be able to check out the battery status. If you do get it working, please let me know. -Devendra Laulkar. ___ ilugd mailinglist -- ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org/

Why Linpus? I'd dump it in favour of other more main line distors. cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state Will give what you are looking for if acpi is up and running. Also check state and alarm in the same directory. and look at other informations available in /proc/acpi directory.
