Re: [IRCA] TP 2May; Victoria version
We're in the midst of a geomagnetic upset right now, but it really was only a few days ago (27 April) when I heard JJ stations on 1269. I plan to hear one or two more Asiatics as the days continue to get longer. Watch me. OK, Nick, I wish you the best. The odds are probably against you, but sometimes that's what makes DXing fun (which just happens to be the secret behind the booming Ultralight Radio community). Besides, after having conducted a dubious DXpedition to an Oregon ocean cliff site during a vicious windstorm last November, I'm not really able to call anybody a DXing fanatic 73, Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA, USA) -Original Message- From: Nick Hall-Patch n...@ieee.org To: Mailing list for the International Radio Club of America irca@hard-core-dx.com Sent: Thu, May 2, 2013 9:07 pm Subject: Re: [IRCA] TP 2May; Victoria version Hope springs eternal Gary. I've developed a tradition of trying to hear at least one of the big JJ guns around the summer solstice; there's only a few minutes of darkness path, but they are possible. Now, little guns, that would be interesting. I know I heard the NHK2 synchros on 1152 at the solstice (admittedly at the coast) before I heard them in the fall or winter months. best wishes, Nick At 15:56 02-05-13, you wrote: Hi Nick, I guess sooner or later, we all need to accept the fact that the long-running Asian TP-DX season cannot continue forever :-) It was psychologically tough for me to come to terms with this fact about a month ago, but there's no way to go up against the unfavorable gray-line propagation indefinitely. The good news is that a new Asian DX Fall Season is now only about 4 months away, and the prime DU-DX season is only just beginning. 73, Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA, USA) -Original Message- From: Nick Hall-Patch n...@ieee.org To: Mailing list for the International Radio Club of America irca@hard-core-dx.com Sent: Thu, May 2, 2013 8:12 am Subject: [IRCA] TP 2May; Victoria version Very limited this morning; monitored between 1200 and 1300 UT ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com

[IRCA] WEMM - 1200
Hi All: There has been no sign of WEMM, 1200, Huntington, WV, for about two weeks now. Usually has a decent level here. Noted WKST, New Castle PA on the car radio in Athens the other day, but no WEMM. No problem with the FM. I wondered when they moved from 1470 why they bothered to put their money into AM. 73 David ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
