Bismillah [IslamCity] 'I have evidence of RSS and VHP MAKING BOMBS': Digvijay Singh

2008-08-20 Thread Media Critic
'I have evidence of RSS and VHP MAKING BOMBS': Digvijay Singh

Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh attacks the BJP just like Sushma
Swaraj attacked the Congress. 'Investigate the timings of the blasts', he
tells "You have made a statement that serial blasts take place in the
country only when the BJP is in trouble."

What I have said is that the timing of the bomb blasts is quite uncanny. Why
does it always happen when the BJP is in trouble? That needs investigation.
I am not charging anyone.

What do you mean when you say the BJP is in trouble?

When the TEHELKA issue was to be discussed in Parliament, the House was
adjourned for three days. Then when the expose was to be discussed, the
Parliament attack took place. When the Godhra incident took place, Congress
was doing exceedingly well in the local body elections and Narendra Modi had
won by only 6,000 votes as a chief minister and that too with great
difficulty. During the recent Karnataka election, there was a bomb blast in
Hubli on the very first day of polling. Similarly, two days before the
polling in the second phase in Karnataka elections, there was a bomb blast
in Jaipur. It really needs an investigation.

Is your statement a response to Sushma Swaraj's accusation against the
Centre?

No, there is no question of that. I have been citing these instances about
the blasts for a long time.

But Sushma Swaraj was criticised by the Congress ... Sushma Swaraj alleged
that the Congress is involved directly. I have not said that. And does she
have any facts?

I have facts of RSS, VHP making bombs.

Do you have evidences to prove that BJP, VHP and RSS is involved in making
bombs.

Yes. In fact, in 1992 there was a bomb blast in the VHP office in Madhya
Pradesh, where one VHP member died and two were injured while making bombs.
Then in 2002, there was a bomb blast in a temple in Mhow. When the police
arrested the VHP activists after investigation, they confessed that they
were even given training to manufacture bombs. I have a videocassette of
that confession. Again, in 2006, in Nanded, there was a bomb blast in the
house of a RSS activist where two RSS activists died. After that in March
2008, there were bomb blasts at two places in Tamil Nadu. Then too VHP
activists were arrested by the Tamil Nadu police who confessed that they
were involved. And how did the Gujarat police suddenly find eighteen bombs
planted on trees in Surat?

So are you saying that the BJP is behind the recent serial blasts?

No, I am not saying anything. All that I am saying is that the timing is
uncanny. RSS, VHP activists have been caught making bombs, material for
preparing bombs have been found at their office and there are three-four
clear cases where they have been arrested and a case has been registered.
Why isn't anyone looking into this?.

Shouldn't all parties unite against terrorism?

Absolutely, but when you target only Muslims, it's not correct.

*Then why is the blame-game still on?*

It is on because we have evidence to say that people who talk about
nationalism and nationalist feelings should not be involved in making bombs.
The BJP believes in divisive politics. They cannot survive without dividing
Hindus and Muslims. Each time something happens, they come back to Hindutva.

Bismillah [IslamCity] Robert Fisk - The Age of Terror Part 4 (Completed)

2008-08-20 Thread Yusuf Ibrahim
*Robert Fisk: The Age of Terror - A Landmark Report*
http://news.independent.co.uk/world/fisk/article1814843.ece

*It may well be that journalists in the "West" should feel a burden of guilt
for much that has happened because they have, with their gullibility, helped
to sell US actions much more effectively than Karen Hughes. Their constant
references to a "fence" instead of a wall, to "settlements" or
"neighbourhoods" instead of colonies, their description of the West Bank as
"disputed" rather than occupied, has a bred a kind of slackness in reporting
the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Just as it did in Iraq when so many
reporters from the great Western newspapers and TV stations used US
ambassador Bremer**'**s laughable description of the ferocious insurgents as
"dead-enders" or "remnants" - the same phrase still being used by our
colleagues in Kabul in reference to a distinctly resurgent Taliban which is
being helped - despite General Musharraf**'**s denials - by the Pakistani
intelligence service, the ISI.*

Much worse, however, is the failure to enquire into the real policies of
governments. Why, for example, was there no front-page treatment of this
year's Herzliya conference, Israel's most important policy-making jamboree?
Most of the important figures in the Israeli government - they had yet to be
elected - were in attendance. The conference was the place where Ehud Olmert
first suggested handing over slices of the West Bank: "The choice between
allowing Jews to live in all parts of the land of Israel" - the "land of
Israel" in this context included the West Bank - "and living in a state with
a Jewish majority mandate giving up part of the land of Israel. We cannot
continue to control parts of the territories where most of the Palestinians
live."

*However, most speakers agreed that the Palestinians would be given a state
on whatever is left after the huge settlements had been included behind the
wall. Benjamin Netanyahu even suggested the wall should be moved deeper into
the West Bank. But the implications were obvious. A Palestinian state will
be allowed, but it will not have a capital in east Jerusalem nor any
connection between Gaza and the bits of the West Bank that are handed over.
So there will be no peace, and the words "Palestinian" and "terrorist" will,
again, be inextricably linked by **Israel** and the **US**.*

*There were articles in the Israeli press about Herzliya, including one by
Sergio Della Pergola in which he warned of the "menace" to **Israel** of
Palestinian birth rates and advised that "if the demographic tie doesn**'**t
come in 2010, it will come in 2020." Earlier conferences have discussed the
possible need for the revoking of the citizenship rights of some Israeli
Arabs. Already this year, Haaretz has reported an opinion poll in which 68
per cent of Israeli Jews said they would refuse to live in the same building
as an Arab - 26 per cent would agree to do so - and 46 per cent of Israeli
Jews said they would refuse to allow an Arab to visit their home. The
inclination toward segregation rose as the income level of the respondents
dropped - as might be expected - and there was no poll of Palestinian
opinion, though the Palestinians might be able to point out that tens of
thousands of Israelis already do live on their land in the huge colonies
across the West Bank, most of which will remain, illegally, in Israeli
hands.*

All these details are available in the Arab press - and of course, the
Israeli press, but are largely absent from our own. Why? Even when Norman
Finkelstein wrote a damning academic report on the way Israel's High Court
of Justice "proved" the wall - deemed illegal by the Hague -- was legal, it
was virtually ignored in the West. So, for that matter, was the US academics
' report on the power of the Israeli lobby, until the usual taunts of
"anti-Semitism" forced the American mainstream to write about it, albeit in
a shifty, frightened way.

*There are so many other examples of our fear of Middle Eastern truth. Our
soft handling of Hosni Mubarak**'**s increasingly autocratic regime in **
Egypt** is typical. So is reporting of **Algeria** now that British
governments are prepared to deport refugees home on the grounds that they no
longer face arrest and torture. But arrest and torture continue in **Algeria
**. Its recent amnesty poll effectively immunises all members of the
security services involved in torture and makes it a crime to oppose the
amnesty. *

*Is this really the best that we journalists can do? Save for the
indefatigable **Seymour** Hersh, there are still no truly investigative
correspondents in the **US** press. But challenging authority should not be
that difficult. No one is being asked to end the straightforward reporting
of Arab tyrannies. We are still invited to ask - and should ask - why the
Muslim world has produced so many dictatorships, most of them supported by
"us". But there are too many dark corners into which we will not look.

Virtues of Ramadhaan
HADITH - 4
Ubaadah bin Saamit (Radhiallaahu Ánhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu
Álayhi Wasallam) said one day when Ramadhaan had drawn near; "The month of
Ramadhan, the month of blessings has come to you, wherein Allah turns towards
you and sends down to you His special Mercy, forgives your faults, accepts
prayers, appreciates your competition for the greatest, good and boasts to the
angels about you. So, show to Allah your righteousness; for verily, the most
pitiable and unfortunate one is he who is deprived of Allah's Mercy in this
month.
COMMENTARY
In this Hadith, we read about the spirit of competition among the believers,
each one trying to do more good deeds than the other. In our own home, I am
greatly pleased on seeing how even the womenfolk vie with each other, the one
trying to recite more of the Qur'aan than the others, so that, in spite of
domestic responsibilities, fifteen to twenty 'juz' (Parts) of the Qur'aan are
read by each one daily. I mention this only out of a sense of gratitude to
Allah, mentioning His favour, and not to boast of it. May Allah accept their
deeds and ours, and increase us all in good deeds.

MPs describe the killing of 65 civilian as “massacre”

Posted: 8/17/2008 11:43:00 AM

 Shabelle: MOGADISHU
Nearly all Somali legislative body members have slammed the killing of 65
civilians by the Ethiopian troops in Arbiska area near Afgoi as “massacre”

Speaking to Shabelle radio the first deputy speaker of Somali parliament
Mohamed Omar Dalha has stated that it unbearable on the civilians’ mass
execution by the Ethiopian troops.

“We shouldn’t not tolerate what the Ethiopians did, we have to not let off them
in relation to what (appalling) they did” Dalha said.

Other MPs of the parliament has added that the Ethiopians are carrying out
bloodbath in Somalia .

In special meeting on this killing matter held by majority of the MPs they
express disapproval regarding the killing of the civilians.

This comes following more than 65 people were killed in Arbiska area after
Ethiopian soldiers opened fire on two civilian minibuses on Friday.

The soldiers shot at civilians after a device detonated near their convoy of
armored vehicles, destroying one, according to five eyewitnesses who are
residents in the area.

The deaths could not be confirmed by either Somali officials or Islamic
insurgents.

The Ethiopian military in the country does not make statements to the media.

Ethiopia invaded Somalia in December 2006 to help the United Nations-backed
transitional federal government oust an Islamic militia from southern and
central parts of the country. Violence between rebels and government troops has
intensified since then.

Shebelle Media Network - Source of Somalia NewsEthiopians kill 100 amid peace
talks

Ethiopian troops kill another 100 civilians in two days.US-led Ethiopian troops
have killed another 12 Somali civilians north of Mogadishu, taking the death
toll of the past two days to 100.

Meanwhile, the Somali parliament for the first time condemned the killing of
large number of civilians by Ethiopian troops, Press TV correspondent reports.

The development comes only a day after UN-sponsored talks in Djibouti began.
Delegations from Somalia's interim government and opposition groups met, hoping
to renew the faltering peace deal struck in June.

The three-day meeting aims at finalizing details of a peace agreement worked
out in June between the Somali government and the opposition Alliance for the
Re-liberation of Somalia, ending the hostilities that have resulted in so many
deaths in a civil war that has lasted 30 years.

A senior representative of the Hawiye clan, Mohammad Hassan Haad, confirmed the
number of deaths for Press TV, saying that despite the peace talks in Djibouti,
Ethiopian soldiers continue to kill innocent civilians and refugees sheltering
in camps.

As a representative of the most powerful clan in Somalia, he called on the
opposition Alliance to pull out of the talks in view of the recent deaths.

According to Hawiye clan authorities, the 100 bodies of those killed by
Ethiopian troops in the past two days will be buried in a mass grave.

The recent deaths come only two days after Ethiopian troops opened fire on two
civilian minibuses killing at least 46 passengers, most of them women.

Thousands of people have been killed and more than a million others displaced
since the US-backed Ethiopian troops invaded the country to support the
transitional government against local fighters, mostly the Islamic Courts
Union, in 2006.

Bismillah [IslamCity] UK: British Muslims new nikaah contract

2008-08-20 Thread Shahid

British Muslims new Nikaah contract

British Muslims unveiled Friday, August 8, a new marriage contract guaranteeing
equal rights for Muslim women, a move praised by both Muslim organizations and
women rights advocates.

"In Britain, more marriages are breaking down and young people have said that
we need to update things," Ghayasuddin Siddiqui, Director of the Muslim
Institute and one of the contract's authors, told The Daily Telegraph.

[Marriage are breaking down not because of Islamic nikah but because of western
influence and western culture and lack if Islamic upbringing in these youths.
These britian youths want to be gangtas and sexy mama and what not. When you
have them imitating the kuffars then what do you except out of them?]

The new contract emphasizes on mutual consultation and on the financial
independence of the husband and wife.

Under the new document, a husband will have to waive his right to polygamy.

The contract does not require a "marriage guardian" (wali) for the bride, and
gives the wife the right of divorce while retaining all her financial rights.

[The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Any
woman who gets married without the permission of her guardian, her marriage is
invalid, her marriage is invalid, her marriage is invalid. But if the marriage
is consummated then the mahr is hers because she has allowed him to be intimate
with her. If they dispute, then the ruler is the guardian of the one who has no
guardian." ]

It stresses that "two adult witnesses of good character" (whether males or
females, Muslims or non-Muslims) must be recognized as just as capable of
providing a reputable guarantee of the marriage and agreed upon terms.

The contract also provides women with written proof of their marriage and of
the terms and conditions agreed between the spouses.

"The document is a challenge to various Shari`ah (Islamic law) councils who
don't believe in gender equality but the world has changed and Islamic law has
to be renegotiated," said Siddiqui.

[Challenge to various Shari`ah councils who don't believe in gender equality?
How ignorant is that? World has changed and has been changing for the past
1500yrs and Islamic law and way of life has worked for 1500yrs. All this to
please their kuffar society]

"They wish that you should compromise (in religion out of courtesy) with them,
so that they (too) would compromise with you." [al-Qalam 68:9].

The current Islamic marriage in Britain is not legally binding and its contract
does not provide written proof of the marriage and of the terms agreed upon.

The new formula, which took four years to negotiate and create, has been
compiled by the Muslim Institute, a leading Muslim think-tank.

It is backed by leading Muslim groups including the Imams & Mosques Council,
the Muslim Council of Britain and the Muslim Law (Shariah) Council UK.

There is a sizable Muslim population in Britain estimated at 2 million.

Harmony

[See the fools speak]

The new marriage contract won plaudits from Muslim groups.

"The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) is pleased to have collaborated with the
Muslim Institute in this important initiative," Reefat Drabu, the Chair of the
MCB Social and Family Affairs Committee, said in a press release on the Muslim
Parliament of Great Britain's website.

"It meets a pressing need of our communities by explaining in clear and simple
language the importance of marriage, the process leading to its solemnization
and the rights and responsibilities flowing from it for the parties."

The Muslim leader called for a broader application of the new document.

"The MCB calls upon all the Imams/Qadis (judges) involved in performing nikah
to use the documentation, as its correct use will facilitate the success of
marriage and will lead to harmonious and healthy family life."

Ziba Mir-Hoseini, of Centre of Islamic and Middle Eastern Law, said the new
contract is a step in the right direction.

"The launch of the new standard marriage contract is a welcome initiative, a
right step in the right direction, that provides the Muslims in UK with a model
for a harmonious and egalitarian marriage."

Usama Hasan, Director of the Muslim City Circle, said the contract keeps a
breast with modern developments.

"This new Muslim marriage contract is an excellent development, since it draws
on those traditional Islamic legal opinions that are more in keeping with the
spirit of gender equality."

Shahid Raza, Secretary of Imams and Mosques Council (UK), believes that the new
contract will enhance Muslims families' harmony.

"It is a commendable initiative and likely to enhance the family life of
Muslims in Britain."

The new marriage contract also drew appraisal from British lawmakers and women
rights advocates.

"The advice contained will, I am sure, help thousands of young people and I
congratulate the Muslim Institute for having the foresight to prepare

instil into the young minds at very early ages to the blessed status and the
enormous reward bestowed by Almighty Allah, of being born as Muslims, living
as Muslims and die as Muslims. There is the option of living as a Kafir, dying
as a Kafir and earning the wrath of Almighty Allah and enter Jahannam. One is a
little bit difficult task but the reward is going to be enormous and eternal
the other is easy and the punishment is going to be unbearable and eternal. For
an example, Passing the exam in a school examination is a bit diffucult but who
wants to fail the exam is an easy task. Similarly we can explain the to cure an
ailment we got to take medicine, which is bitter and not tasty. But by taking
the medicine only we can be cured. If you do not take the medicine you suffer
and die. Once you become or want to live as Muslim
you got to forgo some of your so-called freedom for the sake of Alla's
pleasure/ commands.. That where you differ from Kafir. The process of mindset
towards Islamic teachings should be relentless ,tactful, daily and dynamic-
but must be careful to exceed the limits and end up in extremism and
confrontational with other communities- thus depriving our chances of a
peaceful co-existence and positive interaction.

Sex & the Ummah: Innocence Lost Walk into the toy store, and
you’ll find “baby” dolls dressed in clothing reminiscent of prostitutes’
outfits. Walk into the clothing store, and prepubescent girls are already being
introduced to tank tops, mini skirts, and items of clothing that were once
reserved for mature women.
But hey, this is nothing new. It’s been around for a while… and I think that
many of us - including myself! - have become somewhat desensitized to this.
There are times that we’ll remember how bad it is, but what usually happens is
that we cluck over it for a bit and then get distracted by the many other
problems we’re facing.
Now, however, I’d like to take the time to address this issue from a couple
different angles - both a psychosocial and religious point of view.
In Wendy Shalit’s book “Girls Gone Mild,” she discusses the culture of
hypersexualization: how it’s being promoted, through both media and
consumerism, how it’s permeated society, and how it has so dangerously affected
our lives and mentalities. This article (hat-tip to Nasim Choudhury) makes
similar points - the psychosocial ramifications of hypersexualized culture are
already evident and recognized even by non-Muslims.
Awareness of sexuality is occurring at a much earlier age today, and almost
always with a confused or warped understanding of it. Girls and boys are both
growing up insensitively exposed to sights and concepts about the human body
that were once discovered at a much slower rate that accommodated their level
of mental and emotional maturity.
It doesn’t exist only amongst non-Muslims. Even Muslims are infected with the
disease of hypersexualization, and its effects are far-reaching. Girls who wear
hijaab still obsess over their weight and their image and try to look older
than they are… without the maturity or understanding of what ‘older’ really
means.
In addition to general psychological and social effects of
hypersexualization, as Muslims there is another dimension that makes the issue
even more important for us to be aware of.
The concept of hayaa’ - of modesty and shyness - is one that we Muslims
should all be aware of, and prize highly, and do our best to cultivate within
ourselves. There are many different kinds of hayaa’, but in this context we’ll
deal specifically with modesty relating to our bodies.
In Islam, we have something which we call the ‘awra: the part of our bodies
that we try to keep covered as much as possible. In general, although of course
it differs with women in respect to the hijaab and so on, the ‘awra can be
described as what is between the navel and the knees.
Sheikh Hisham al-Awadhi mentions in his series about Children Around the
Messenger that sex education and awareness is supposed to begin at an early age
for Muslim children - starting with the understanding that there are certain
times and places that they cannot enter without permission. Hopefully this is
something that Muslim parents are implementing with their children… but then
there’s another kind of sex education that must be addressed. That is, teaching
our children how to have respect and modesty regarding their own body, and
others.’
It’s not enough to just give kids “the birds and the bees” talk and to make
girls start wearing hijaab - indeed, I find that there are far too many girls
out there who wear hijaab without even fully understanding the many wisdoms
behind it, including that of respect, modesty,

**Bismillah Hir Rahmaan Nir raheem

Rehearse The Book Of Allah
*
35:29 Those who rehearse the Book of Allah establish regular Prayer and
spend (in Charity) out of what We have provided for them secretly and openly
hope for a Commerce that will never fail:

*30 For He will pay them their meed nay He will give them (even) more out of
His Bounty; for He is Oft-Forgiving Most Ready to appreciate (service).
*
31 That which We have revealed to thee of the Book is the Truth confirming
what was (revealed) before it: for Allah is assuredly with respect to his
servants well acquainted and fully-Observant.
*
32 Then We have given the Book for inheritance to such of Our servants as We
have chosen: but there are among them some who wrong their own souls; some
who follow a middle course; and** some who are by Allah's leave foremost in
good deeds; that is the highest Grace.*

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) used to say, " O Allah, grant me

increase my knowledge. Praise be to Allah in all circumstances. I seek
refuge in Allah from the state of those who go to Hell."
